It’s not surprising that elected leftist officials have no real world experience. Awful situation for the people in that area.

One of the things no one is talking about is the lack of leadership we have here. Our mayor and city council is not prepared for this
I moved here on Tuesday, and brought the storm with me. We have listened to the daily updates and the mayor is conspicuously absent. The county manager does not seem to bright as well as she said “she would be very pacific (sic) when she gets mo infomation “.
I think we are in a world of shite here with the water situation and it doesn’t appear to me that the people in charge have the capability or leadership to help resolve things.

What I remember as a child going through Hilda and Betsy was Vic Schiro showing up on WDSU TV with his Civil Defense hard hat...
Vic came on TV to talk what he saw around NOLA and what he was going to do...
An insurance salesman turned mayor did a far better job in 1965 than these DEI idiots are doing today!!!!

No one is prepared for total devestation
Well, it is their job to be prepared to mitigate situations and save lives... They should have plans and supplies in place... Coordination with State agencies and plans with them in support... shite isn't rocket science...
There is not a single person in this country that should not have plans in place to have enough water and food to get them through 3 days... So, some of this is liberal folks living in their utopia...
However, based on that picture of Asheville's leadership, their citizens are fricked beyond belief.... They should have been prepared to endure for a week plus...

I've spent days in Asheville and barely run into a single black person, yet they are 40% of the city administration/council?
It's like DEI turned on its ear.

Our mayor and city council is not prepared for this. Years of being concerned about LGBT crap and transgender bathrooms isn't going to help them. Apparently there is panic amongst the city leaders - they don't know what to do.
Doubling down on the trans bathrooms is the correct play here for them

These weak individuals will be the first to bail out and move on to another city. Nashville & Knoxville need to prepare themselves for the incoming exodus.

I agree, but what do you think these people are going to do? They are useless, period. They are going to point fingers, blame others, and not do a damn thing but virtue signal how this disaster is only hurting women, minorities, and gays.
Also, IF "righties" were in charge currently, what do you think these same people would be saying/doing?

The place is full of REI hippies that don’t know what end of a hammer to hold.
Their only tools are to clean their glasses.
Good luck.
