I guess if you work in retail there would be few emergencies.
If you're willing to let the government tell your boss how and when he can contact you, you're also going to have to cede a lot of power in the personal freedom department, such as speech codes, hours of operations for businesses, bans on Muslim headscarves in public schools, etc.
And look at that German family that just wants to home school their kids. They're being hounded by their own government.
What's that old saying about "those willing to sacrifice their liberty......"?

It is fine that some people live to work. Not everyone does.
Then not everyone should live off the money produced by those who live to work and produce.
Can't have it both ways!!!. Oh wait never mind, it's your fantasy world. You give to have everything you want, because life should be fair.

If you possess desired skills you can negotiate a sweet work environment for yourself right here in the U.S.. If not you can move somewhere where the government can protect you from the rigors of work and accomplishment.

Meh, France's economy is shitty and their per capita production is even shittier.
Liberals love pointing out the things in Europe which they agree with while choosing to ignore all the problems there which are either absent or minimal here. They love European "tolerance" while ignoring that many countries are 50 years away from being ruled at the highest level by Islamic law. They love their healthcare system while ignoring all the wealthy Europeans who come here for care and how nearly every tangible measure of morbidity and mortality across all disease states is higher there. They love their system of government oversight while ignoring that few business owners have any market freedom.
This.
We also subsidize a lot the shitty European countries with defense and other sorts of foreign aid and they still can't get it done with a lot of their problems.

there is nothing, nothing...that cannot wait until monday.
As a wise old boss once role a young TA: "nothing happens on a drill rig that isn't an emergency". And once you understand what's at stake, you understand, why that is.
The mature realize there are something's bigger than themselves. Liberals think they are the center of the universe. It's a distinct difference in philosophy.

Y'all have only "visited" there. Europeans as a whole are poorer than Americans. Job opportunities are scarce and when you find a job you don't ever leave due to a fear of not finding another.
I'm glad we aren't "just like them". We didn't become the economic power we are by being.... "just like them".
Basics of success. You don't become successful by being... "just like them". That amounts to seeking mediocrity. That's the opposite of seeking success. It's being timid.

I have a personal routine. It took me awhile to earn it , but I have.
*I wake up at 7:30 and do 1 to 2 hours of paperwork, coffee, and Political Talk.
*My wife or my neighbor and I usually go for an hour walk.
* I eat lunch and putter around with various projects.
*The wife goes to pick up the kids and I take a 20 minute power nap.
*I get dressed and head to see 2 or 3 clients from 4pm to 8 pm.
*I come home and hang with my kids.
I do this 4 days a week. I take one random day off per week most weeks. I go to every school function, all the field trips, take awesome vacations, have 10 close friends I stay in daily contact with, and still have the time to be the most boyishly charming poster on the political board.
I say all this to remind myself that six short years ago I was broke and desperate and had ZERO prospects. I worked MUCH harder to fail than I do now to succeed. Yet out of that shite that was my reality circa 2008, I rebuilt. And now I have prosperity and total freedom. Life's weird that way.
I was prepared for opportunity when it came, absolutely hungry and beaten down and damn lucky. But at no time did Government figure into it, except to hound me for taxes from a failed business that bled me dry. The more the State dictates the less prosperity we have.

So I guess with this new law if I had an employee set to take a 6AM flight on Monday, but the plans changed over the weekend, I would have to wait until Monday morning to call him at the airport. Or I could have sent him an email Saturday letting him know he does not have to be in the office until 9am Monday since the trip was cancelled.

The donations only cover airfare with the same conditions stated for DS. You do fly coach and and nothing after your arrival in France is covered at all not even the Metro rail or train fares to whereever you wish to live in the country.

Rob, apparently one can acquire a nice hacienda in Spain for absurdly low prices. The Spanish clime is perfect for growing all sorts of things. Can you pony up 30-45k for us to have a palatial estate from which we will acquire mamacitas?
probably, but my current mamacita (who would be down with living in spain) might have something to say about the extra ones ;-)
