If you are getting your information from “the news” you are not informed. You are indoctrinated.

There will not be a truly free press again until the monopoly of the few global corporate giants are broken from their ownership of all these entities

If an ABC, or Wash Post or CNN, etc, etc, etc were independently owned/operated and depended on ratings again, we’d probably see a return to striving for accuracy and credibility. If some entities were not able to survive without their Corporate puppet masters funding and dictates so be it. We really wouldn’t be missing anything.

I do not see how local news operations can be profitable in today's day and age.

It’s been pretty interesting reading of your first hand experiences and appreciate your sharing those on the board.

To your particular observation I quoted above my opinion is some of those local operations probably don’t need to survive then unfortunately.

I don’t see any way back to a semblance of an independent press short of the monopolies being broken up.

I read in 1983, 90 percent of American media was owned by 50 different companies. By 2011, that same 90 percent was owned by 6 companies and it’s been extremely limited ever since.

When the global behemoths decided it was time to get more overtly involved with political affairs that advanced their own interests the “free” press was doomed.

So what we are left with today is pure corporate propaganda save for the very few local interest stories that the big corporation doesn’t have personal skin in the game and is fine with airing.

We all have a choice I guess of which spin we wish to hear but I’m not sure most anyone hears the straight story anymore and left to make their own informed decision.

We all lose for that.

Nah.

The news isn’t the moral arbiter of truth. It’s up to numbskull people to do their own DD

85% were savable per the best that approved it. Actual cases to back it up.

Chick is so smoking.

I don't know why she wastes her time in journalism. Just start an OnlyFans page and make super bank. I can see her bringing in 100k a month on there.

I wish someone would do this same thing to the local FOX affiliate here in Dallas. All leftist biased reporting. It is sickening. Yes, I'm talking to you Tim & Lauren. I will give Hannah Battah as pass due to her looks.

Youve heard worse than hiding a treatment proven to lower the mortality rate if started in early stages of a deadly virus.

One that supposedly killed 600k people?

I mean, God damn. You are kind of a shite person for not standing up to whatever horror you knew about.

IMO local news let us all down the most. These are the people who we see in Church, out to dinner, or their kids go to the same school as ours.
Instead of going to the local health care facilities, nursing homes, funeral homes and collecting real data daily on how many people were really sick or had passed; showing us in real time that there were not hordes of the sick and dying camped outside the infirmary and there were no freezer trucks parked behind the crematory, that was running night and day to dispose of the dead, they just keep pumping the corporate narrative, putting out cumulative numbers and telling us how bad things are.
It's unforgivable. I don't know how they sleep at night.

My bet is the former.

We don't have a good local outlet to watch. It's a shame, really.

I don't even watch network or cable anymore. I get my information here, theBlaze, and Daily Wire.

Working in TV news was a cancer. I used to justify it to myself that local news was different than national news, and it was for a while, but no more. The two are the same, equally biased and shite.

I wish I had the courage to do what this lady did. I was not an on camera talent, but I sat in plenty of production and department head meetings where partisan political agendas were pushed.

I have worked in TV news, radio and print, and I can attest to the validity of what you posted.

What is reported, how it is presented and what is NOT reported are all to promote leftist agendas.

You will hear "extreme right wing" a million times before you will ever hear "extreme left wing."

This has been going on a LOT longer than the last few years though.

The ultimate legal suits, both individual and class action, over wrongful deaths of loved ones, is going to bankrupt many media companies and big tech companies. Hopefully, a lot of corrupt individuals, too.

And, they did it all to beat Orange Man Bad. I hope they pay and pay and pay until they have nothing left to pay with.

Every TV station I have ever worked at, there is massive segregation between the newsroom and sales department. I've been at 4 stations, not one of them had a dynamic where the sales and news teams intermingled. Two completely different types of people.

This is very interesting. Could you elaborate? What were the sales group like and what were the news people like?
