That isn't normal backlash. They expected that. Someone higher up the food chain told him he better slowly back out of his position.

The idea was Gary Chambers’ so it doesn’t surprise me that once rational thought occurred via public discourse this would backfire on them.

Can you imagine how much Murphy Paul and Broome want to strangle GC on a daily basis? He literally makes their job 10x harder.

The only thing worse than these racist idiots are the morons that keep electing them.

ETA: Chandler Loupe has less of a spine than a jellyfish, so wouldn’t be shocked to see him abstain or no show. He is a poster child for why we need term limits.

From the article:

quote:

Cole's entire statement:

Prior to Denise Amoroso making any public comments, a number of people residing in district eight reached out to us relative to being appointed to the vacant seat. We wanted all of them to know we will not vote to appoint anyone to the seat.

When LaMont Cole was appointed without opposition to his seat, I lived in that district.

I emailed Denise Marcelle about the interim role and expressed my interest. She appointed Cole, which she has the right to do, but had the gall to say no one even reached out to her about the role so she had to go find someone.

Too late, they were exposed.
People are getting a better idea of what these people are all about.

These people need to give it a fricking rest. They are apparently pissed because the Metro Council has a slight white Republican advantage. They obviously want another black democrat on the council so they can stonewall anything that they feel helps whitey and that they feel is bad for the black community.

Maybe so, but the sad thing is the people in those districts keep electing idiots. When will Chauna finally be term-limited off the council?

Why in the frick is this the law? How can the governor appoint a metro council member? It's two different governments.

Yet another example of the Metro-Council's inability to govern, so as is their usual method of operation, they rely on the State of Louisiana to do it for them. Pathetic.

The damage is done to Baton Rouge’s ability to stay “together” without them even getting their choice onto the metro council.

The threat of doing so combined with Banks’ explicit statement that it would be to shove through a black progressive not representative of the district’s needs in order to screw St George, is just another brick in the wall.

The attempt to do so is enough to probably put St George signatures over the top.

Chauna Banks and her metro council cronies wouldn’t know a true progressive candidate from a hole in the ground. All they care about is filling that spot with a black democrat to add another member to their little racist voting bloc.

I signed the petition 3 years ago.

Looks like it’s time to do so again.

ANYTIME there's something with a smidge of controversy, Chandler has car trouble or some kind of family emergency.

He's by far the weakest link on that fricking council.
