Wrong, Bass. Yes, the media loved him, but his job performance was strong. In fact it may have gotten him killed.

JFK was much more like Trump than any of the past 3 republican presidents

He was the last president that viewed us as his constituents, everyone after viewed their campaign donors, corporations and PACs as their constituents instead.
Was he perfect? He'll no, not as a man nor as a president. But he learned quickly and could have been one of the best leaders in our history if he had been allowed the opportunity to do so.

Multiple things can be true at the same time
Iow both of your statements can be true while the real government could have killed him because he was too uncontrollable for their interests

JFK bumbled all his foreign policy in the short time he had, bays of pigs, getting into VietNam….i don’t remember any decent domestic policy either….
He was a Catholic at least in name so that gave him some popularity from causes other than his actions.
The media endorsing him I see as a negative given what we know of the media now. The media hid his immorality and played up the idea of Camelot…..
I think in retrospect jfk can not really be evaluated relative to presidents that served entire terms…….

I agree with your revelations about JFK being a 'shitty POTUS' - but I think he was wrong about Cuba.
His non-support for the Bay Of Pigs invasion gave us over an half century of a danger from Cuba.
Part of my dislike stemmed from the discussion of that subject during the famous "debate" - he actually chided Nixon for "not having any plans to take care of the Cuba situation"
I agreed at the time - then I learned that he had been briefed about the Bay of Pigs plans - but Nixon could not say anything about it during the debate.
I think that was a big decision point in the election - I believe Nixon would have won that election except for the apparent "weakness" he showed in that debate.
Now I voted for Nixon anyway, but I know of a lot of people who did not - and that was the reason.
All a lie - JFK knew of the plan and knew Nixon could not reveal it.
And when JFK refused to support the invasion I was pissed.
BUT - other than that, I was wrong about JFK - there obviously a lot about the Cuba situation I still do not know about.
BUT I became more appreciative of JFK during his tenure - and mourned his assassination.
I really don't know who I;d have voted for in the '64 election had it been JFK v Nixon instead of LBJ v Nixon.
I would have never voted for LBJ for anything = one of the worst POTUS in history = although whoever was wielding the Auto-Pen during the Biden admin runs a close race for that title.
I believe our history would have been much nicer to us had JFK - or RMN - or Goldwater been elected in '64.
ANYBODY other than LBJ, who set us on a road to ruin we are still trying to get off of.
It's insights like these that I really appreciate TD for more than anything else. I love hearing from the folks who were actually there

The media and most commentators admire JFK today, and rightly so…
I don’t doubt they admire him, for what they think he’d support today, and not what he actually supported.
The Dems have moved so far left that JFK would be significantly right of center in today’s world.
The point in my post above is that the MSM has stopped with the gushing Camelot BS.

You need todo a little more research on JFK’s foreign policy. The Bay of Pigs was a mistake and hehe acknowledged it as such.
However his dealings with the Soviets were beneficial to America and maintained a position of strength.
It was really the Johnson Administration
that got us knee deep in Viet Nam…

If you were smart, which you arent, you would understand that President Trump is the JFK of our time. Trump is fighting the same corrupt Political Establishment that Kennedy was fighting.
The corrupt system killed Kennedy, but dummies like you are supporting the corrupt system's never-ending attempts to destroy Trump. Maybe blind souls like you will figure it out one day.

Everyone forgets jfk flip flopping with the bay of pigs. People died because of him.

I started shifting opinion on JFK awhile ago. He's Clinton's first term only a little further right.

Just trying to keep up.

JFK's mistake was trying to end the Israeli nuke program.
People can complain about his foreign policy, but he back-channeled with Khrushchev to basically work out ‘the no nukes for not invading Cuba’ deal. The no nukes part seems like a fair trade all things considered.

The tribe wasn't too happy when John decided the US should be on the gold standard...they really got fussy when John said they shouldn't have nuclear weapons
