Nah, the research is done.

Doesn't exist.

So, if we're going to play this game and claim that homosexuality is genetic and shouldn't be considered aberrant behavior, then I would like to suggest that racism is also a genetic trait.

Why stop there, right?

How about a liar, a thief, an adulterer, or a murderer?

Statistically speaking, it’s most likely that both children were abused rather than “naturally gay”

Would not be surprised although I don't know that part of their history. The dad is a mean SOB though.

Modern science can determine a lot of things about a fetus in early stages of pregnancy. Their sexual preferences as adults is not one of them.

We would all like to think that it's 100% due to environment but there are kids who are obviously going to be gay and you can see it from a very young age. Mostly little boys. Little girls are tougher because tomboys are such a common thing and usually just a phase.

I thought being queer, gay, pedo, bi... was "a good thing"?

Why "suppose" when it is a learned behavior?

Have any of you people saying this, ever actually met a gay person and talked to them?

Would aborting a child with those genetic markers be okay to the pro-choice crowd?

Would they be okay with pre-natal genetic therapies to "cure" the condition?

It should be. I, for one, would end a relationship with another if I heard or discovered that lifestyle in the family. Heck, I hardly watch TV due to its promotion.

There is a difference between 'little boys and girls' and a 'fetus' still in the womb. And if there really was a detectable gene you could identify in that fetus then there wouldn't be such a difference in male and female homosexuality. A very high percentage of 40 y.o. lesbians had sex with a male earlier in life. Not so with gay males. Where was the pre-birth gene with the females?

I disagree that it is genetic. I know a set of identical twins, one of which is a homosexual and the other married heterosexual with kids. This is not rare. They are genetically identical, why the difference then?

The term “gay gene” is just the dumbest phrase ever. As if there is some single, Mendelian inherited gene that controls something so complex

We stopped looking bc it’s not something that would ever be found. Why not look for the “college football fan” gene while we’re at it….

Pro-abortion people should be forced to watch a real abortion.

Anyone GETTING an abortion should be forced to watch theirs when it's happening.

That shite would curtail the numbers dramatically.

I had a LOT of gay friends in college and a lot more in the workplace. They all said that it's something they knew pretty early in jr. high. They also said they were totally disinterested in ever getting married to another gay. They preferred to play the field.
I did not have ANY lesbian friends. They all hated my guts and wanted me to die young.

The gay gene came from male twins both being gay so that's what they thought. Never could be found in female twins.

I tend to think in the old way. You choose your sexual partners and humans respond to sexual stimuli. You maybe were born horny, but not gay.

How am I justifying abortion? I am presenting a question that calls on the pro-choice crowd to put their money where their mouths are. If it's truly a woman's right to choose and the rights of the child be damned, then they will have made complete enemies of the alphabet people.

Please accept my apologies. I read your OP with a different inflection than you intended. I understand where you were going with that scenario now. One of those cases where tone that wasn't implied by you was incorrectly inferred by me.

It’s not genetic. I think some are predisposed to be tempted that way more than others just like some people are more likely to be addicts.

It’s a sin in Gods eyes which means everyone has the ability to reject that behavior. We all have weaknesses and temptations. For some it’s greed, some it’s gluttony, some it’s alcoholism or drugs, and some it’s sex or perversion. But we can all resist and reject those temptations so no it’s not genetic where that person has no choice and can nothing about it.
