The counter argument is that we have known that this was taking place for three years. And yet it’s taken the entire time to get concrete proof. And the replacement of dozens of department heads and directors.
It's not like the information wasn't there.
Dan Coats could've declassified this list at anytime.

Correct. The unmasking in itself takes prior authorization which Biden obviously had. The part that is illegal is sharing that name with unauthorized people..leaking..
So assuming he wasn't the person who leaked it to the media, then the only real relevance of Biden's name being on there was that he lied yesterday when he said he had no idea what the Flynn stuff was about...?
It doesn't seem that far-fetched that some NSA employee would feel OK to unmask someone at the request of the vice president...

My guess would be not having all of their eggs in one basket. Manafort was fired with the quickness. If Trump would have dumped Page, all would have been lost. Unmasking and NSA queries, at that point, had been stopped.

And I never understood how Flynn connected to the Misfud/ PoppaD trap.
the only public writing I have seen that connects them has been Flynn's counsel trying to get Misfud's phone transcripts from DOJ. I dont recall reading any specifics on it either, I m not sure if there ever really was a connection there, sometimes its a good tactic-rock kicking- even if you dont have anything specific, just to see what turns up, sometimes you catch a break..dunno

Yep, mere lying is no problem for the dem party
Lying in such a bald faced manner makes Biden an all-star!

No. I think what he's saying is that because prior authorization is required, there is no way Biden saw the report before requesting the unmasking.

So.. safe to assume that Joe will say he never actually looked at the unmasked info

Correct. If we had an honest media, he would have to explain this which he cannot do because he was up to no good, he would be a proven liar.

well, thats a different story and very easy to backtrack (paperwork is a really big deal with this) and that person that gets caught typically goes to prison for a long time

Ah. The “rogue agent” defense. Somewhere, Lois Lerner’s ears are burning.

I wonder if 30+ people requested unmasking to intentionally hide the eventual leaker

Back to the beginning. Rogers stated the legitimate process. After the actual process was reviewed and given to the court, the FISC stated that it was not being followed in 1000s of cases over many years. In fact, contractors working for the FBI were doing ask queries with no supervision.
The FISA warrants were all to cover up what had been going on for years, these illegal "ask queries".
All of this Flynn unmasking amounts to less than a 100 on one person, chum in the water. When Grenell does the data dump it will be 1000s and hundreds of people, of all shapes and sizes. it could be another Jaws miniseries with all the sharks fished out of the swamp.
The spin is that Flynn being unmasked is no biggie because they always monitor russian ambassadors. Its not the unmasking of those conversations, its the ask queries trying to dig up dirt on his personal life.

I believe they were cut off from the nsa databases on or near the summer of 2016, and had already moved onto the fisa warrants and had Halper poking aroung GP prior to the election. They were already past the point of no return by November.
True but then obama by decree removed the NSA as the gatekeeper and had all 17 Intel agencies/depts monitoring themselves when they accessed the data base. Slick move to really dig info on everyone before leaving.

I saw Bidens name on the list . You mean to tell me he lied about not knowing anything about Flynn?
Come on...cut him some slack...I am sure he forgot about that already and didn't know he was lying. I mean it was a few years ago...sheesh! He struggles day to day nowadays.

And as I understand it this is by law to protect the civil rights of person for whom they do not have legal permission to wiretap.
