Big Brother = BAD. But inevitable.

FLOCK, FISA, Ring, GPS, Patriot Act, automobile kill codes, among many others, all designed to work in perfect symbiosis to monitor, track and control. Subjugation and egregious violations of multiple amendments in the form of legislation and fOr TeH gReAtEr gOoD.

We exist calmly and unwittingly inside a massive surveillance state within the illusion of liberty.

It violates the spirit of our constitutional protections. Other than that it's fantastic and definitely won't be abused

It’s been abused a lot, which isn’t a shocker.

If someone is harmed via stalking from the cops, the department, county/city and the camera company should all be drug into court and sued.

Want to see how bad/good/indifferent it really is:

Deflock Map

This is an interactive map of the US showing the location and direction of every Flock camera.

The conservative suburban town I live in essentially has two roads in and two roads out from Denver. A massive interstate and a 2 lane highway. Our crime is essentially 0 here, and our local PD/Sheriff do a fantastic job arresting the riff-raff that makes its way down here because of Flock. My Denver PD buddy showed me the tracking of my vehicle in the Flock network and while I hate that they know my vehicle's ever move, I do like being able to leave my bike unlocked at the local coffee shops and not worrying about criminals ruining our last conservative holdout.

What's your view on the ramp rate of Flock camera installs in the US (urban and rural areas) over the last couple of years?

I don't like them one bit... and think AI is going to destroy or enslave us all.

I can leave my car doors open with shite inside and nothing is moved. It isn’t because of flock it’s because I live in a nice area not because of Flock cameras.

If you watch State Boys Louisiana on YouTube you will see that they can track people from other states.

They love pulling over rental cars for “following to close “ or some other made up excuse.

Then when they question the driver when they already know where he/she came from.

This seems a little invasive and over the probable cause laws, just because you are 25, driving a rental and came from Laredo Texas are you an automatic drug smuggler ?

It's absolutely horrible and a stepping stone for the future versions that will be even more invasive.

People will one day wonder how in the world we let this happen.

We live in a prison of our own creation.

Bad, but the mere implementation appears to be constitutional. However, as with any tech that government uses, there is the potential for unconstitutional misuse.

I say good only because Great wasn't an option. Nothing else seems to be stopping people from committing crimes. I expect the use of cameras and AI will make it much more difficult for people to get away with crimes. I am all in favor of it.

They only put these cameras in the decent parts of town

They don’t catch actual criminals. These are glorified inspection sticker checkpoints

I get the Freedom aspect.

However, they were instrumental in them tracking and catching a murder suspect from Mississippi living in a very rural town here.

Once they tracked and determined he was actually living in this town, they surveilled him until they felt it was safe to confront and pull him over.

Luckily for the American taxpayer, once he was pulled over and stopped in a remote parking lot, he pulled out a gun and took his own life.

The problem is not the surveillance, or in the same case with the Patriot Act, but rather when bad actors discover it can be illegally exploited for nefarious other reasons.

You don’t have a reasonable expectation of privacy of the exterior of your vehicle when you leave your private property.

You also don’t have a right to drive a vehicle. That is a privilege.
