I played college sports so I could not have a job during my undergrad.

My career path requires more schooling so I have a student job to help pay for my apartment and am working towards my masters.

Do people really vote for a candidate just because of a celebrity or athlete endorses or votes for a candidate?
Someone with a completely different lifestyle and life needs than they probably need themselves.

To be fair, we can all be rather foolish in our youth. I would have voted for Carter for his personable style ('My name is Jimmy Carter and I'm running for President'); he was an Annapolis grad (where I hoped to get an appointment); and from the South Eastern part of the country; etc.

Thankfully, I was 14 years old and I still remember how miserable the country was under his administration. That make my vote for Reagan, that much more satisfying.

Many women of all ages, for some reason, still vote the way I would have at 14. Personally, I don't care about Trump's bombastic personality, which sometimes is controversial. I care about his policy... and with that, he is right on. Additionally, his tenacity and resolve cannot be compared to most other candidates over the years.

EDIT: Welcome. This is a great place for discussion.

I thought I would let you know that they 20k Harris is offering to new homeowners does not include those whose parents owned a home. So, if your parents own/owned a home, you are no eligible for that goody bag.

A lot of young people are not aware of that, always check the fine print!

Kamala had no policy to promote.

Yes, she does. She says a version of it every day. But the meaning is always the same:
"I am for goodness!"
Crowd cheers.
"And I am against badness!"
Crowd goes wild.
So, her policy is clearly to fight badness by signing goodness bills.

I hope you take some time to understand what drives housing cost, and how often “good intentions that sound good” have unintended consequences.

If you’re new to politics read anything by Thomas Sowell. If you’re interested in affordable and sustainable housing prices, read his book The Housing Boom and Bust.

Also, the decision to relocate from an apartment to purchase a home should be driven by job security.

At this point our system is so fricked up that even well intentioned policies end up creating unintended consequences or negative externalities that are fairly unpredictable. Both parties are at this point following a logic of social interventionism. The logic is always to DO SOMETHING, when, in reality, we should probably do less.

Take abortion, for example. Would it shock you to learn that there have been more abortions since Roe was overturned rather than fewer? Crazy, I know, but true. You can moralize all you want, but it doesn't mean your favored policy will accomplish your stated goals or even move you closer to them.

My mind is made up, I’m voting the same I did last election. Hopefully more successfully this time.

Welcome. It's always good to get legitimate new blood here (as opposed to election trolls who just happen to show up or sign up only before an election).

I was aware of this, also not the candidate of my choice. Thank you for the information tho, maybe it will help someone else!

People just need to honestly ask themselves "am I better off today than I was four years ago?" and go from there.

Has the government paid for more? That is 95% of what I care about.

Did the left-right split change? Leftist abortions are good.

Probably should be question #1.

Groceries are more, apartment rental agreements are more, and gas is more now than 4 years ago.
