Frankly, military nor fed civilians should pay income tax at all due to reduced market salaries and lessening benefits.

Let’s go a bit further, include public school teachers, first responders, police, fire fighters as they are all paid bottom of the barrel yet people demand those services… time for a market reset across the board

The taxes and penalties on early withdrawals on any investments needs to go the way of the Dodo.

A fair and reasonable tax on income? Ok. But anything done with that income to increase your personal wealth should be off limits.

The Dems are at war against Trump and his supporters, who are regular American citizens. There will be casualties.

My representative already voted and passed a bill to fund the govt.

My two senators have voted 14 times to get you paid.

If you don’t have a few months of cash in accessible savings knowing that a shutdown could occur annually, you have made some really poor life choices. There are some exceptions related to unexpected medical bills and other life events but the assumption is that those are uncommon.

What’s your role in the federal govt?

Just curious. You don’t have to say where.

You obviously don’t realize it, but your livelihood depends on the government, too.

Why are you arguing that government workers are the same as private sector? You should be arguing why they're different if they deserve some kind of exemption

Imo this is a risk you willingly take on when you sign up for government work. It sucks, absolutely, but it's reality. Just like some industries are boom & bust with economic cycles, government work booms & busts with the political cycle.

I'd like my money back for all of these.

Public education is nothing more than an indoctrination center for kids

Social benefits are a complete joke and woefully mismanaged

Judicial system definitely is not protecting American citizens

Our tax dollars are wasted, mismanaged, and stolen by DC

Sucks to be dependent on the government, good luck to you

Taxes… ??? Nahhh tariffs should suffice, of course, market constrictions will occur globally thus making the top 5% to reinvest into America and forced to pay workers a livable wage due to inflation… US will be forced to onshore vital manufacturing for all necessary products, COC will scream for more H1B visa workers, because why would they want to be forced to pay Americans a respectable salary when the can rely on foreigners living 20 deep in single family homes? Thus driving up prices on housing and groceries yet again, God forbid we deport ~50 million deadbeat immigrants both legal and illegal sucking the breast of lady liberty dry…

My representative and both senators voted to keep the government funded. They went beyond what you are requesting.

I think the ire needs to be directed at the ones using you as a pawn and holding the government hostage to force spending in an undemocratic way.

Couldn't you do a 401k/457b loan and then either increase future contributions to match or pay back the self loan pre-tax?
