The offender gets sentenced to 12 years.

And ended up only serving 6.

It also looks like they did not inform the victims family that he would be getting out at all:

quote:

Jessica Stanley was keeping tabs on him, and after a search of the Indiana sex offender registry, she discovered he had been released in May and was staying in Elkhart again.

quote:

She says she's gotten dozens of messages from people supporting her brother.
They live in a small town of about 50,000. I bet there are a lot of people that would vote not guilty

Gary Plauche’s ex-wife and mother of Jody was furious that he had killed Doucet…

…without letting her help. She stated later in an interview that Gary “could have at least let me drive him to the airport.”

I’ll never blame a man for doing this..I'd like to think I would do the same.. whether I would is unknown and hopefully will never be tested.

He has to plead not guilty so he gets a jury trial. After pleading not guilty just STFU and let the lawyers do the talking.

A Time to Kill in real life

The book/movie was based on a real event.

Except in the real event, it was a white girl who was raped and murdered and her father killed the perp.

So bringing race into the story wasn't factual nor was it necessary, right?

Noticed he didn't dress like ANTIFA thugs, black and more black - with a full black hood.

I'm thinking he wanted that victim to know who it was. Can't blame him. He really didn't work hard to cover this up.

That's OK. Hollywood has been at it for years. Remember when Moses was played by an English/Scottish giant? (Charlton Heston)

What state? That could make a huge difference.

the news article is Indiana/Michigan area

also depends on rural vs urban area....good luck finding a "jury of his peers" in a rural area to convict him.....let alone a prosecution to go to trial.....

Urban he is screwed

This kind of vigilantism is problematic, but in cases where Judges fail to deliver punishment sufficient to render justice and deter crime, it remains a practical and unquestionably effective method. If every offender knew what they’d get, a lot would bridle their criminal passions.

This Father not only rendered punishment on that offender, but if celebrated as heroic in the public he sets the tone for activist to follow his lead. Judges will think hard as well before going lenient on what used to be death penalty crimes; back when there were very few of this heinous nature because of harsh punishment.

It is tragic but given the dynamics such may be prudent and our future, if the System don’t do the job of protecting the innocent. Whatever we tolerate we get more of.

Not guilty.

In a separate matter the mayor should give him a key to the city.
