All the promising success of clinical trials of the Rona vaccine makes me wonder what else could be fast tracked if ordered to do so.

Amazing what Big Pharma can do when told to get it done.

Lot of big money to be made on working on treatments and not cures!

I have a Type 1 diabetic brother and daughter and I am sure there are plenty of functional cures that the research has been mothballed on. As the diabetic community says, there is no profit in curing someone who relies on daily medicine for the rest of their lives.

You mean allowed and monetarily incentivized?

And why were you the first to reply to your OP with a partially agreeing post? Did you forget to log into the the proper alter?

Believe me if I’ve tried to use alters. Apparently the TDBI has a way to track IP addresses to match up accounts.

It’s just a matter of time before someone gets unmasked from this site.

Oh, the have long had the cures!

How did the do it so fast with covid19? Simple how them the answer and that makes every thing faster!

I just wish they would stop making more diseases! That is our biggest problem! This isn't the first one they unleased! One of many! How convenient these new problems develop every year that require big drug companies to save us!!!

mRNA is a brand new platform. One specific advantage is the theoretic speed to deployment. That's what we've seen.

Why would they develop flu vaccines and not develop cold and bronchitis (rona) vaccines if they could do it?

So I would say nope. Diabetes has been around forever. And it is multifactorial. A single cure would not help everyone. And in many cases there is no such thing as a cure.

If pancreas is destroyed, how we going to cure that?

So these conspiracy things are ludicrous.

Vitamins don't cure cancer.

The problem ain’t Big Pharma.

It is the FDA putting barriers in front of trials.

It’s pretty simple really. There are a small handful of flu strains and as such each its a educated guess how the strains will mutate. The flu vaccine is created accordingly. The rhinovirus or common cold has about 160+ strains and therefore it’s impossible to apply the same educated guess to create an effective vaccine.

My optimism for a COVID vaccine is low. When the virus is grown, harvested and attenuated for a vaccine, after attenuation its protein structure changes too much from the viable form of the virus. That's why your immune system won't recognize the virus.

You mean the breathless Moderna announcement from Monday on 8 patients doesn't mean we're almost there?

If only they'd fast tracked that HIV vaccine over the last 3 decades, maybe the world wouldn't still be waiting on one...

This is a "don't place all of your hope into a vaccine that may never come" post.
