Amazing how much massive wealth can be accumulated through “public service.”
Servicing themselves maybe.

A lot of these people were wealthy before they took office.

A couple of MoC's (including one on the list above) facing charges for just that later this year.

Yea, the name public service is such an outdated term for what politicians do. It's about money and power for them, they don't care about their constituents, meaning they don't really serve the public.
And I would hope this is something both sides can agree on. It shouldn't matter if their is an R or D by their name, no one should want these people building up massive amounts of wealth while in office. It only corrupts the soul.
It's ok if you built it before and manage it ok, but to build that amount of wealth while in office stinks of corruption, and both sides are guilty of it.

It’s amazing how all these spouses are getting sweetheart deals

I see that most of the highlighted names listed are Republicans. Where are the ultra rich Dems, like Pelosi?

The most interesting category to me is "in the black". How has 78 year old John Lewis, who has been in Congress since 1987, not accumulated any assets or liabilities? Does he live in box and gamble all his money away?

She's listed in the linked piece at #30 (have to follow a link within the link.
Note: this is all as of 2018 - see the Chris Collins wealth spiel which doesn't mention his insider trading indictment on those biotech holdings.
quote:
In his third term representing the area between Buffalo and Rochester, Collins looks to be the Hill’s most successful corporate turnaround expert. He started at Westinghouse Electric after getting a mechanical engineering degree. When the company closed the industrial gear factory he was running, it sold him that business, which he named Nutall Gear Corp. He sold it in 1997 and, after an unsuccessful congressional run, started acquiring 22 distressed businesses in an array of industries. His holdings now include a biotech company that grows viruses for research, a ceramics manufacturer, and a New Zealand company working on therapies to combat multiple sclerosis. Biggest of all is his stake of at least $25 million in Innate Immunotherapeutics, an Australian biotech research business.

Paul and Nancy Pelosi Foundation, est. 1991 thats where the real money is, as it is with most politicians.
Foundations allow you to take "donations" from foreign entities, which are illegal to take directly. They should have never been allowed to be established for politicians.
They are solely set up to break the law "legally". It also allows you to take money from nefarious entities at arms length to avoid criticism.
hillary did not invent the foundation concept.....but she did take it to stratospheric levels.

Probably hiding the money in some corrupt enterprise so it won’t be taken by inheritance taxes.

I would like to see a ranking of their government pensions

I’m the opposite of surprised that Maxine Waters has nearly as much debt as assets.

Shouldn’t Pelosi be in the first list?
Posted on 2/10/19 at 8:15 am to John McClane
Nah, she's worth about $16M (or 0.05 Kushners) according their report.

Kushner?
Damn. That TDS prescription isn't working at all.
