Allowing people to keep money they earned is not a handout.

Yah, then how do we pay for defense, infrastructure, and the other $36 trillion we owe?

Well first you cut all the wasteful spending, and government theft so it doesn’t cost as much to fund those things. Then you pay for it with Tariffs like we did before the government started stealing our income.

From what I can gather it is medicaid getting the cuts
This is one of those MSM talking points. I haven’t read the budget but I imagine the “cuts” are an effort to eliminate fraud. There are many people on Medicaid who should not be. As to the “tax cuts for the rich,” which is also an MSM talking point, there is no mention of any tax cuts for anyone else. Imagine that. Tax cuts only for the rich. That must certainly be true.

Why? Why should servers be exempt from tax?

There should be no special carve out for tips or OT. It’s got no rational basis and is just naked vote buying by brain dead populists.

You are argument holds no water and you have failed to demonstrate how a tip is a gift.

Huh? I'm not arguing for or against anything just explaining why a tip is looked at as different than regular income by some. If anything I support raising the minimum wage for tip based positions and begin removing that expectation from society.

Every Democrat voted against no tax on tips/overtime

Remember when Kama-lama-ding-dong came out in favor of no tax on tips and the corporate media acted like it was the greatest idea ever? Even though President Trump had actually proposed it months before?

It was a vote on the whole GOP budget, including billions in tax cuts for the rich and billions in Medicaid cuts.

So the bill is only tax cuts for the rich.. cuts in Medicaid, and no taxes on tips and overtime?

That was the shortest bill to make it to the floor in the history of the United States.

Orrrr you left other things out….. while chastising someone else for leaving things out.

Oh my!! Some rube named Rutger Bergman said so!!! Well my opinion has changed!!!

Remember the tax cuts and jobs act back in Trumps first term was all cuts only the wealthy too?? Only…… it wasn’t.

This is symptomatic of the problem with populism, which is the government treating people inequitably and picking winners and losers. We don’t need that shite.

With a tax code that is several feet thick if you don't think government has already been picking winners and losers I got some swamp land to sell you.

I get what you’re saying.

But if I want to tip you $10, I really need to tip you $15

Not fair to me.

But the whole restaurant system would have to change to make it fair.

No tips and raise the menu items 20%

And make restaurants pay the waiters
