Can you show in this bill where salary positions eligible for overtime will still pay taxes on hours worked over 40?

Wasn’t this a budget resolution and not a bill at all?
People in this thread can’t read for shite. This wasn’t a tax bill.

Do people that make minimum wage working full time pay more in FICA then they receive in aid from the government?
Those type of workers do not pay taxes. Fact.

Well you are moving the goal posts and still failing.
FICA funds a specific program.
If living on government benefits and being poor is so fricking awesome, why don’t you quit your job and join them?

A subset? That's what you're going with?

Why?
You work beyond 40 a week, why does government get to tax your sacrifice of time?

So once again, Dems lied to the American people.

Massie is the biggest fraud in the House

I made minimum wage for a time. I was in high school.
I guess I could go back. But I’d rather live in comfort I’ve worked so hard to provide my family with.
Nobody is supposed to work a lifetime at a minimum wage job.
You would rather people become wards of the state. I want people to climb the ladder and become as successful as they can possibly be.
I’ll ask again since you are dodging the question. Does someone working minimum wage net more from the govt than they pay?
Going back further to the scenario of the janitor getting minimum wage vs tipped wait staff, you see the janitor getting hosed.
I see an opportunity for the janitor to career path into something better.
If trained properly, managed fairly, and understand their goals fully, people will want to excel.
Your problem is you think you are better than people below you. You think they can’t ever be what you can be. LET THEM EAT CAKE!
That usually doesn’t work out very well.

Was this in the big budget package that includes taxes cuts for the wealthy and cuts in funding to medicaid?
Well no shite they were voting no...their base doesn't want tax cuts for the wealthy and cuts in social safety net funding.

“We” don’t owe anything boy wonder. The federal government created the debt and should feel the pain repaying it not the taxpayers. You really are that stupid
Posted on 2/26/25 at 6:36 am to VOLhalla
Here comes the fake red line for the Left, Medicare lol. Gotta keep those illegal aliens on the government payroll
Posted on 2/26/25 at 6:37 am to aero1126
The politicians got us into this mess, let them figure it out with the taxpayers constantly having to take it on the chin for their blatant mismanagement.
Posted on 2/26/25 at 6:38 am to Major Dutch Schaefer
To be fair, I don’t want this to pass. It’s bullshite.

I also agree.
It’s going to cause a massive problem.

These titles are so dishonest. What else was in the bill? Massie didn't like it.
This is the same strategy the Dems would use in these 800 page bills.

Sweet anecdote. I have a similar background.

Nice NPC talking point that has frick all to do with the topic of this thread or why tips should be exempt from taxation.
quote:
You would rather people become wards of the state. I want people to climb the ladder and become as successful as they can possibly be.
WTF? I want a fair tax system that treats all income the same -- earned income from working a job should be treated as ordinary income regardless if salary, hourly, OT, tips.
You seem to want daddy government to choose winners and losers. So don't ever call yourself a conservative.

This question has frick all to do with the topic of the thread.
quote:
Going back further to the scenario of the janitor getting minimum wage vs tipped wait staff, you see the janitor getting hosed.
They are treated the same from a tax perspective as they are both working a job. You are the one advocating for tips to be treated specially and tax-exempt for no real demonstrable reason other than "muh feels" and that Daddy Trump told you it was a good idea.
quote:
I see an opportunity for the janitor to career path into something better.
Some people just want to be a frickin janitor. Again this has frick all to do with the discussion.
quote:
If trained properly, managed fairly, and understand their goals fully, people will want to excel.
More meaningless drivel that has nothing to do with the topic of this thread.
quote:

wut? Advocating for equal treatment under the law and being against nonsensical carve outs that have no rational justification other than "muh feels" and "Dear Leader said it so it must be a wonderful idea" is "thinking I am better than others"?
You have lost the plot, bud.
Posted on 2/26/25 at 6:58 am to Major Dutch Schaefer
Those that receive tips are likely all Democrats. Those that work overtime are more conservative so democrats took a hit there

From what I can gather it is medicaid getting the cuts and the child health insurance program seems to be taking a fair bit of the cuts. I don't think that survives senate to be honest. I'd prefer the poor children to at least be healthy so they have a better chance of becoming productive adults.
