Good Twitter Thread from Weinstein

So, yeah, give me the party of bullshitters over the party of gaslighters. Many of my best friends are bullshitters, but I refuse to be around a gaslighter. It is a losing strategy against the grade A-Bullshiter since the bullshitter will just go point it out.

At least you can laugh at a bullshitter and they will laugh with you. However if you laugh at a gaslighter their reaction will be violence if they don't self restrain themselves.

Any traditional Democrat/Liberal has to do the obligatory "Trump sucks too" disclaimer. The important thing is that people are instantly recognizing Progressive/Chattering Class gaslighting and specifically intend to PUNISH Democrats for it.

As I said, some of my best friends are bullshitters and I am one as well. Bullshitters tend to be funny and don't give a shite. Give me that any day over the gaslighter who point blank ignores the problem and then turns you into the problem when you bring it up.

republicans are the party of live and let live. go be gay...go be trans...go cut your dick off and wear a wig, i don't give a shite. just stop raising my taxes.

ever heard a democrat say "let them go to church on sunday if they want to. it's not bothering me."

nope! it's "we need to close their church down. it bothers me." "we need to take their guns. guns bother me."

I swear this was my senior quote:

Here's the difference.

Republican: "I don't like meat, so I'm not going to eat meat."

Democrat: "I don't like meat, so I want it to be illegal for everyone to eat meat."

Democrats are the sweet Aunt who promises to take you to Disney World, but never follows through. Republicans are the gruff Uncle who tells you he can’t afford to take you to Disney World, but you later find out he went without you.

The difference in the replies are jaw dropping. Those in agreement can point out specific differences between the two parties and point out areas where the Democrats own words betray them. Those who disagree just call him a racist and say orange man bad. It's not gaslighting. It's lobotomizing.

Both frustrating, but one is clearly more dangerous than the other

Take global warming for some Republicans -

"We don't trust that the scientists aren't politically motivated so we don't believe in it. We'll now tune out everything else."

Take race/crime statistics for Democrats:

"We need to rethink the concepts of scientific knowledge and data-driven knowledge because they prop up things like misleading statistics on criminality."

In other words -

Republicans - Don't trust 'em, so I don't buy what they're selling

Democrats - Destroy all the underpinnings of the things I don't agree with, using made-up and inherently flawed tools

I'm going to side with the one that doesn't seek to eliminate science just because the scientific community says something I dislike

Democrats are the sweet Aunt who promises to take you to Disney World, but never follows through. Republicans are the gruff Uncle who hooks you up with a summer job doing construction so you can afford to go to Disney World and learn to appreciate the value of a dollar while developing a strong work ethic at a young age

I like Eric and his brother Brett a lot. They are far left in a lot of their ideologies but they are honest, appreciate intelligent discourse with conservatives, and not afraid to call out either political party. I wish we had more democrats like them.

This, I probably don’t agree with Eric about a lot but at least he’s honest. Didn’t he want yang & Mcraven to run potus/vpotus.

That is 10000% not true. The Evangelical wing will NEVER agree to let that be the case. A lot of the GOP is still fighting against gay marriage, legalization of marijuana, and other trivial personal freedoms like whatever gender someone wants to check on boxes of surveys. At the same time we keep spending our asses off, while having soldiers in the Middle East still.

Again Trump is changing some of those things, but it is not the mainstream GOP.

Agree completely.

The Dems and the GOP are two sides to the same authoritarian coin.

Him and his brother have been running the Unity campaign for a few months now. LINK / They (we as I participated as well) actually voted on Sunday with a ranked choice Tulsi Gabbard and Dan Crenshaw ticket getting 53% of the votes. I think Yang/ Mcraven were second. I dont see Crenshaw breaking ranks and joining a unity ticket.

that's fair, but i really think it is the mainstream GOP...in real life, out in the streets, everyday people. elected officials cater, pander, and pretend to be religious when they're not. the Evangelical wing is definitely not the majority, or anywhere close to it, of modern everyday republicans.

and i'll go an anecdotal bit further about my "live and let live" point. who is more safe...a liberal walking around a conservative city with biden gear on, or a conservative walking around a liberal city with trump gear on?

a conservative is way more inclined to let you be, and i really don't think it's even close.
