Northern California actually has YOLO county.

I was out there working in 2003 when they were trying to recall their governor and folks wanted me to sign for his removal. They didn't care that I wasn't a resident of California, only that they got enough signatures for a referendum.

Nice work Captain Obvious.
You would have 104 Senators if it broke into 3, and chances are, 3 of the 4 would be Republican. The House would get much more conservative though.
Northern Cali is very conservative. Probably as conservative as my blood red district in Arkansas. Sacramento gets shite on, because that's where the looney left sends their representatives.

2016 POTUS map.
It would basically come down to gerrymandering to decide how the three states would break down politically.

They tried splitting into six states back in 2014. Why does anyone think it will succeed this time?
SoCal, Silicon Valley and Jefferson? The State of Jefferson would be an anomoly on the West Coast, as it's majority Republican.

Amen. I live here as well. No one talks about this ever. The state of Jefferson stickers are occasionally seen traveling on hwy 50. It sucks that so many people hate this state. California is beautiful, eclectic, resourceful and filled with kind hardworking people. Never forget we are donor state. We contribute more than we ask for.

Wish Georgia allowed referendums like this..

6 of 6 Senators would be libtards.
No want.

Doubtful.
At worst, it would be a 3-3 split, maybe 4-2 in favor of noncrazy.

I've worked in Redding and around Mr. Shasta. Incredible beauty that way.
If it becomes the state of Jefferson, I would definitely consider the move as well.
Godspeed to the quest.

Been living in California for two years, and I've yet to meet the first Californian that talks about this. It's just not on anyone's radar except for the most extreme fringe loons.
And Poli Board idiots.
This. Has absolutely zero chance of passing

Learn to swim, California. Looks like we keep the conservatives and libertarians, and the libs will eventually be dropped into the ocean.

If you google the pro-"Jefferson" crowd you'll see their rallies consistently draw about 20 people
and I'm somewhat mystified why this continues to be jack off material for conservatives. I mean, I know yall are gullible as hell, but damn.

I'm sure California used to be damn near paradise. Unfortunately, liberals happened.

Isn't northern California kinda conservative? That would be cool to finally have some red on the electoral map out west.
Between this and the census of 2020 including citizenship info, proggies in Cali could be in for a rude awakening.

Water could be the problem. Right now, SoCal gets a ton of its water under compacts with other states. If California splits, I'm not sure what would happen to that compact. I am confident that other states would like to bust it and get more of the water for themselves.
BL: A split could leave Los Angeles as a dry, dusty desert full of people dying of thirst.
Maybe when everyone stops being so God damn retarded down there they build desalination plants. The holdup seems to be everybody worried about cost. But when you're starving you just go ahead and do stuff like that without worrying about free market and the economy doing it for you.

Last time that I checked, they were on the Pacific Ocean. They need to spend more time making large-scale desalinization plants more economical.
