BREAKING — Secretary of War Pete Hegseth launches "Project Meridian," Co-led by Elon Musk, to study the Future of Warfare.
"Today, at my direction, I’m announcing Project Meridian — an effort led by America’s best minds to study the future of warfare."
"Under the leadership of the department’s chief technology officer, Emil Michael, Project Meridian will be co-led by three of our nation’s best minds: Elon Musk, Palmer Luckey, and Newt Gingrich."
Best minds. Actual builders. Not the consultants who spent a decade turning the Pentagon into a seminar.
Auto Warcom this morning. Meridian this afternoon. The woke department is gone. The people who know how to move fast are in the room.

I do not get the Newt Gingrich angle at all unless it is how the House functions.

Musk's rockets keep exploding. That doesn't give me much confidence.

Musk is taking the daunting task of putting men and payloads into space and reducing it from a massive government inefficient and costly endeavor to the private sector and nearly routine.

Do you by chance use Nancy Grace Roman telescope currently moving to LaGrange 2?

Today, at Secretary Hegseth’s direction, the Department of War is announcing FORTRESS America—a national insurance policy for the American homeland.
Every major military installation in America will generate its own power.
We are bringing our critical supply chains home.
We are building strategic reserves deep enough to fight through disruption.
We are securing the high ground and the airwaves—our satellites, our spectrum, and our ability to see, navigate, and communicate with one another.

I don't like the CEO/Founder of a major defense firm being one of the names honestly. (palmer) Not saying the guy doesnt know his shite, but seems like a huge conflict here.

I’d feel better about this initiative if it was headed by a violent, cock sucking, tranny. Otherwise I guess Elon can handle it.

Musk and his teams can certainly add value in this arena. If nothing else, in manufacturing.
There are things I don't like about Musk but rockets exploding is a silly thing to be concerned about. When you're constantly pushing the envelope those things are inevitable and part of the learning process.

I can't imagine trying to shite talk the intellect of Elon Musk.
Holy shite. This place never disappoints.

Didn't know who this guy was.
Oh this makes sense now. He got fired from Facebook because of his support for Trump.

Palmer Freeman Luckey (born September 19, 1992) is an American entrepreneur and co-founder of defense technology company Anduril Industries. He was the founder of Oculus VR and designer of the Oculus Rift, a virtual reality headset that is widely credited with reviving the virtual reality industry.

In November 2018, The Wall Street Journal obtained access to internal Facebook emails which suggested the matter was discussed at the highest levels of the company. Facebook executives, including Zuckerberg, reportedly pressured Luckey to publicly voice support for libertarian candidate Gary Johnson, despite his support for then Republican nominee Donald Trump. After his firing, Luckey hired an employment lawyer, and together negotiated a payout of at least $100 million, arguing that the company had violated California law for allegedly pressuring the executive to voice support for Johnson and for punishing an employee for political activity.

No defense against a space laser.

Maybe an unpopular take:
-ZERO years of military service among the three
-conflicts of interest for arms manufacturers

So go with the same ones that all have conflicts because military folks go to work there or are on their board? Like Raytheon and Lockheed Martin?
The Pentagon revolving door.

Anything that doesn’t involve a psychological component will be incomplete. Nothing more demoralizing to the population than receiving a text message from the enemy showing them torturing and killing your son like is going on in the Russian-Ukraine war
