Elon Musk on the Future of Superintelligence After Today's Luncheon

I have a thread up on the luncheon itself, but I figured this one should probably get it's own thread. There is a lot of fear-mongering out there about all of this and yes, Elon himself has noted that Superintelligence is not without its dangers, but this is why we put Top Men on the problem. Here he talks about what he feels is the most likely outcome of our pursuits.

Jobs are going to change. Jobs have ALWAYS changed.
But being a computer used to be a job. There used to be buildings FULL of people doing calculations, but now digital computers to do those tasks. I don't think anyone is pining to go back and do calculations all day to do bank interest rates, which is what they used to do.
So I think we'll see an evolution of roles. And as the President has mentioned, it's not as though unemployment has increased. In fact, there's a TREMENDOUS demand for people.
So I think the most likely outcome--and it's probably worth looking at--the most likely outcome is one which is INCREDIBLY beneficial. And it's a future that you, if you could look into the future, it has a future you would WANT."

People resistant to change & resigned to everything being a struggle for the foreseeable future won’t like his optimism
They’ll instead point to possible benefits he has in saying it instead of being optimistic themselves. They’ll call their reality the true reality while having less knowledge than Elon.

Go watch the Musk interview with the Financial Times.
Musk said he thinks we're going to enter an AI Golden Era with some level of UBI and shorter work weeks. I've also heard Musk say a future with AI, automation and robotics dominating economic productivity could become quite chaotic, societally speaking.

I know Elon is a lot smarter than I am but I don't get the universal income replacement economy.
It does not past the logic test. How is money generated if everyone is getting income for doing nothing? Where is the money coming from?

Precisely what Zuckerberg talked at length about with Rogan in a podcast a year ago. Here's a short reel on him saying most people will just have time to 'be creative" (on UBI). The entire podcast is #2255, and it's wild. He goes in depth what citizens will be doing without jobs.

I have been in the web design SEO world now for 20 years and AI basically took over my normal web design / SEO because anybody can now hop on GPT or Claude and have it build you a full website in 30 minutes for like $20 bucks
so instead of being sooooo scared of AI, I have pivoted and now use AI as an envelope to be their entire marketing staff and it has been amazing.. I now create awesome TV commercials, social media ads, etc which was something I have never done before in this space
