It’s not “names”. He isn’t suing people who call him a jackass; he’s suing for being called a “thief” and a “Nazis”. Those have rather specific meanings. As a public figure, Musk has less rights to be protected from slander than the rest of us. But even a public figure cannot be slandered by making specific false accusations. Musk is right to push back on flagrant slander, and it’s easy for you to say otherwise, because it’s not your name being slandered.
