ICE cars are all on the grid, too. Unless you mean the power grid, which, if you do, is compatible with a goal of reducing emissions.
If that's the true primary goal, they have a long ways to go. Costs need to come down, recharging and milage needs to improve.
Most people aren't willing to spend more money and be more inconvenienced for the sake of reducing emissions.

They have the same battery 12v battery ICE cars have.
But, what exactly do you think regenerative breaking does? Hint, it recharges the battery.
All while I am driving. I do not have to plug in my truck battery.

Not important! The goal was to make politicians and their friends richer.

This article barely discusses the main contributors to pollution by EV's. How they're charged & what goes into making 1 battery pack that needs to be replaced at approximately an 8-10 year interval.
In depth studies have been done on EV's, ICE, & Hybrid vehicles. The Hybrid was head & shoulders less hazardous to the environment than EV's with ICE vehicles coming in a somewhat close 2nd.

Imagine being dumb enough to buy an EV

Obviously, the solution is to ban tires. Someone will come out with a new "environmentally friendly" tire that costs 5 times as much and wears out twice as fast.
One more way for them to get rid of personal vehicles...

I don't remember where I saw this but I think it is huge.
All the thousands of miles of highway guardrails across our entire country?
They will not withstand hits from EV's.

Yeah, I bought an EV about two or three months ago, and the range issue is worse than they say. Plus it was shockingly expensive even with the dealer subsidy. They are at least a decade away from being a reasonable alternative for ICE vehicles. I like mine because I’ll never have to charge it away from home and I have garage 240 volt 50 amp receptacles.
They give the range based on ideal temperatures and using 100% of the charge. But this is impractical. You should not charge above 80% very often because it eats away at battery life, and you are less likely to push near 0% because of anxiety about where a recharge can be had. My car lists a 290 mile range, but I won’t go below 15% charge and I’m starting at 80%. So my range is about 195 miles, and that’s before outside temperatures are considered.

which causes the brakes and tire treads to wear out faster than standard cars
But also, gotta love all the OT bros eating this up, while not a one of them ever seemed to complain about heavy SUVs and their tire threads releasing these toxic particles. I guess that's perfectly fine, right?

And WHAT exactly is fueling the electricity in the POWER GRID? Magic? Fairy Dust?
Since morons don't like or want Nuclear, Hydro, etc, something is burning to make juice and the juice right now is insufficient for Californicate (alone) to keep up with just residential use without brownouts, blackouts, NewSCUM crying that people need to use less juice and suffer when it's hot out, and people need to buy more EV's?

Even the left has noted the tire issue. We are solving one issue and creating another.
No diff than california killing marine life to save one salmon.
People start realizing the shite they are doing is dumb and has negative consequences.

I'm anti-EV's, but this article seems unbelievable.
I think this info is BS!

American politicians demand electric vehicles because China pays them to.
This study has nothing to do with China owning no oil but a ton of lithium.
Nothing will change.

I thought it was standard for Electric Vehicles to have regenerative breaking.
If that's the case, the point about breaks wearing faster on EVs is retarded. They have almost no wear.
Breaks: separate or cause to separate into pieces as a result of a blow, shock, or strain.
Brakes: make a moving vehicle slow down or stop by using a brake.

No one ever really talks about how effective gasoline is as an energy source. You can light gasoline on fire and it will burn but it you throw a match into the fumes/vapor you’ll get an explosion. A combustion engine doesn’t run off a fire, but millions of explosions that drive the cylinders up and down.
Bang for the buck, nothing comes close to crude oil.

Big arse heavy trucks and SUVs have been around for decades. I've never seen or heard a single person ever complain about the toxic tire particles they put out.
It's not an issue because some random study you can't trust due to other incorrect "facts" said it's an issue.
