As to be expected, for various reasons. The French have a long-time relationship with Palestintian leadership. Like since the 60s or 70s.

They got 33% the first round and about the same this time
That was the majority in the first round, it sould had been enough to form a government in France. But of of course they have the second round mulligan, wich is bullshite.

I will post this again:

Are you confused what "majority" means?

that one shot elections are the best ones.
And your only support for that is that you don’t like who won this particular election

No. The RN did not win a majority of first round votes.
The RN was ahead in the majority of elections after the first round, which is as meaningless of a statistic as the national popular vote in POTUS elections.
If France had one round elections, the “first” round would have looked exactly like the second round did. Need evidence? Look at the RN’s performance in the last two presidential and parliamentary elections prior to this.
A full 2/3rds of the French electorate does not want the RN running the country.

SFP and Indefatigable would rather not explain why it went the way it did.
This explains it pretty well;
Think Clinton winning because of Perot. Take Perot out Bush wins.
*Just using as an example. I don't give a frick if you believe that or not.
This explains it pretty well;

It was undone to a large extent by tactical dealmaking between centrist and leftist opponents, who pulled more than 200 candidates from three-way races to avoid splitting the anti-RN vote.

I already said all of that, I.e. coalitions and pulling candidates/tactical voting.
It’s not rocket science. It happens every national election for the RN. They get clobbered in the second round—every time—because none of the other parties support them.

I did. Nobody would coalition with Le Pen.
If you have no allies in a Parliamentary system, you have to get a majority or you get nothing.

That doesn't explain shite to the hicks here that know nothing of elections outside the US.
My simple quote and comparison makes it simple for them to understand.

OK I get it, but what would you say if getting 50% +1 was impossible in a one shot election? should that mean, that the slow part of the population gets a chance to change everything in a second round?
I don't think that's good for France.

But each time conservatives particularly in the US get all hot and bothered when they get a good showing in the 1st round.
The crazy thing here, is that other than LePen's stance on immigration, she like her father are basically center left from an American perspective
