You asked for solutions. There is a direct correlation between the use of powerful drugs on children and the rise of mass shootings.
Every mass shooter was prescribed some amphetamine or psychotropic drug.
Stop drugging kids and shootings will stop.
Just my opinion.

Calling for peace and unity is virtuous, but laying down your right to protect yourself is beyond naive. Evil will not go away because people march, but it can be met with resolve and the courage to act. Who knows how many would have died in the church attack last year or so, had one armed citizen not stood up and fought back. I doubt he wanted to be a hero, he merely did what he believed someone must, and he was the one in the position to do so.
