Trump was wise to change his stance on TikTok considering how bad this bill is.

I guess I read the language of the bill. I thought the bill was going to force the sale by a certain date. If true what is wrong with an American company buying it?

This!

People just parrot what they hear even though they know next to nothing about the app, nor have they ever been on it.

If anything, TikTok is the complete opposite of what HtM said. There is a ton of info provided by individual users on that app that you won't see (or at least isn't headlined) in the MSM.

Again, I'm not saying I trust the CCP, but TikTok has more free flowing info from all sides than the major "American Owned" platforms in my opinion.

Technically nothing, however whomever buys it will inevitably wind up doing what the other major social media platforms were doing and censoring certain political groups, opinions, etc... at the request of the US federal government.

TikTok as it stands now allows more free speech than it will if it's forced to sell to an American buyer who will wind up on the take with the US govt, in my opinion.

Lol. We're in an era where the government labels free speech as "extremism". Criticizing wokeness and Democrats..or the government itself, is considered extremism. X promoting speech that goes against wokeness, Biden, or the government.
..such as Tucker Carlson's speech...the government will use that new bill to squash X. Forcing X to go back to how it was during the pre-elon days. Where anything anti-trump was artificially promoted to trend. And people who criticized the power structure were shadow banned, or outright banned.

Yea, lol.

Then the US Tiktok can push good ole American gay race communism exclusively like Facebook.

Trump's position "reversal" was under color of this legislation.

Remember, his EO proposed something very similar, but it was limited in scope to TikTok and ByteDance, not just any social media platform/tech outlet who says the mean, mean words about the current illegitimate regime.

It's wild how the intel community has gone berserk over Trump winning in 2016 and Brexit.
This is apparently the best single piece on the rise of the anti-disinfo industry.

Our Government ants an American owned company to buy Tic Toc so they can censure it and track users themselves.

This has nothing to do with China, Israel demanded it be banned.

The anti western hatred isn’t coming from China, it’s coming from Hollywood, from our universities, from the media.

Reading is fundamental bro….the bill stipulates companies owned by adversarial nations (Russia, China, North Korea etc….)

Which part of the bill does this? Sincerely curious, no gotcha.

Censoring via secret algorithms is one thing. Having complete autonomy to shut down an application is another and there is no precedent for that currently.

60% of the Tiktok is owned by US and International investors, not Chinese.

20% is owned by the company founders.

20% is owned by company employees, including over 7,000 Americans.

The CEO is from Singapore (born and raised).

You cannot said it's owned by China.

You do realize this Board will be taken down, right? You can’t be that fricking stupid to know that the ISP TD can be accessed is international which means this site will likely be shut down in the future under this bill.

There are people in both threads that refuse to read the actual bill and talk like this is no big deal

Baffling...
