It's impossible for the bottom 50% to pay only 3% in federal taxes when they pay 15.6% of every dollar they make on their W-2 in the form of payroll taxes
So you dont know the difference between payroll taxes and federal income taxes.

It sounds to me like he is saying the earnings off those assets should be taxed at the same rate. I find it difficult to disagree

I think the "tax the rich" crowd does as well. Think the OP is a tax the rich lib

Can we agree that there needs to be a better system that taxes the truly rich.

Right now they pay virtually zero taxes as an individual and their organizations profit vastly off the government they heavily influence $$$$.

I can’t agree with this, sorry. We collective objective data showing you are wrong.

Got some numbers to back this up?

Well so far no one has tried to make the case that my numbers are in error.

Some have tried to say that my scenario is pretty rare, but it's estimated that there are around three million Americans with stock portfolios exceeding $2,000,000.

There are approx twenty million Americans with a net worth of over $2,000,000 but that would include 401Ks, real estate, etc.

Three million is a lot of folks.

Others have tried to shoot holes in my analysis by calling me names and making me cry, but that doesn't really affect the validity of the analysis now does it?

If you don't feel like you're making enough money, you should do something yourself to change that. It isn't up to anyone else.

I've sort of asked you to do that for yourself.

Nick Shirley proved unequivocally that there is a bunch of fraud in California and Minnesota and instead of those in charge being remotely upset about it they pass laws against investigating it.

Just saw this statement made in a thread about the death penalty (weird)

Holy shite. If rich parents want to help out their dumb kids what business is it of yours? You feel entitled to rich people’s money? You think death should be a taxable event?

first of all child, 2.75 mm isn't a lot of money and 4% isn't a very good return, if person A wants to have any sort of life he'll have to start spending the principal

secondly, very few "factory workers" make 95k but if they do and are married with two dependent children, then they pay no income tax.

thirdly you're an idiot that doesn't know how anything works in the real world!

thank you for your attention to this matter!

Are you really comparing sales tax to another layer of income taxation?
