Dozens gather at Lock Park to sign petition seeking Gov. Jeff Landry recall
quote:
LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Dozens of people gathered at Lock Park in Lake Charles Saturday to sign a petition calling for the recall of Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry.
Organizers with the group Louisiana Deserves Better said they have been coordinating recall petition signings in communities across the state.
People at the Lake Charles event said they signed the petition due to concerns about Landry’s leadership and decisions. Some pointed to issues they believe affect voting and representation.
“The gerrymandering that’s going on in this state that’s diminishing the minority vote and we feel that they’re not being fair to the minorities in this state,” said Donald Broussard.
“For democracy, for our rights, for everything freedom is about — what the United States is supposed to be about,” said Lisa Ardoin.
Statewide, the petition effort would need more than 500,000 signatures before a recall could move forward to voters.
Losers

Dozens? Why even run that story. Lmao

There are 2.8 million registered voters, meaning they need around 500K signatures in 180 days
Yesterday, during a statewide election, only 800K people actually voted
In short, they have no shot

If Latoya could weather a recall then Landry sure can.

Because that what left wing communist propaganda networks do. You have 25 purple haired dykes, a couple of punks, a boomer or two, and a few white women with short hair and wire rim glasses, show up downtown Lafayette for some asinine 'No Kings' rally and it becomes 'news.' Meanwhile, there are several hundred people at St. Eds church on Ambassador/Congress for a Right to Life March and nothing ever gets mentioned. They promote their cause, Marxism/communism, it's that simple.

There is hatred in the media that covers our Sith Lord Governor.
The Louisiana media has LDS instead of TDS.

Does this idiot not realize they had to gerrymander across the state to make a minority district?

Thanks for the laugh on a Sunday night before I go back to work in the morning. And you are not lying. They could have 26 or 44 people show up for No Kings and that shite will be breaking news with graphics and the breaking news official accompanying audio alert.

Its a New Orleans thing
Unless there are 500K people in that line, it won't make a difference

Weird that the barrier to a recall election is so high.
I wonder who developed that system…

Like I keep saying… if a recall didn’t take out Edwin Edwards after the 1991 race against David Duke, I don’t see one happening anytime soon.
Probably need a governor caught in bed with both a dead girl AND a live boy to get ousted.

What are you hinting at?
It's actually pretty standard at 20% of registered voters. Some states go as high as 25% and it was added in the 1974 Louisiana Constitution.

Just watxched an interview with Gad Saad , the author of the book Suicidal Empathy. All these white people in this group are the epitome of suicidal empathy driven by their white guilt.
