Sending the NG to democrats cities in democrat states is a bad idea. If they send them to high crime cities it should be in red states with governors that approve . Would be a good test to see how the people in that area feel and vote after the crime is lowered .

Federal law was being broken by the governors of those states.
I absolutely, 100% support Trump sending the guard into any state/city that is breaking federal immigration law by hiding illegals. That would be your parallel scenario.

Yes, there are some issues in South Atlanta but the rest of the city and metro are pretty damn safe
Where in Metro Atlanta do you feel safe? Just curious. I actively avoid stopping for gas ITP and usually fuel up outside the metro area.

DC needed to be cleaned up so people visiting our Capital don't have to step over bums, see others shitting in a flower bed, or get car jacked by a 14 yr old.

After mulling it over for a few days, I am now of the opinion that Trump shouldn't send in the NG to Chiraq, Baltimore, NY, Atlanta, etc. Get the crime rate way down in DC and keep the federal and NG presence there. Let the residents and mayors of Chiraq, Baltimore, NY, Atlanta, etc. see their high crime rate continue while DC gets safer. Let the folks wallow in their crime while it gets worse and worse until they cry UNCLE and beg for help.

Red state governors don’t even need to “approve” Trump to send in the guard. They could do it all hey themselves anytime they want. We should be asking why they haven’t done it yet instead of wondering when Trump hasnt sent troops to Chicago yet.

If I believe what I see on TV, drug dealing is organized crime and involves interstate transport. These are Federal crimes and could be used to place the National Guard in drug dealing areas.

I have often said that when Democrats get into power, they govern like they'll be in power forever.
Trump shouldn't do the same thing. Sending the NG uninvited into a city is crossing a line, and just remember...one day the Democrats will be back in power. I wouldn't want a Dem president sending the NG into a state uninvited.
