Billionaire Elon Musk and his DOGE team are working on deploying a new and untested tool to assist his goal of slashing costs and 'lazy' federal workers.

Musk's officials are now proposing the deployment of artificial intelligence to upgrade government systems.

Josh Gruenbaum - head of the Federal Acquisition Service at the General Services Administration (GSA) - revealed how they're considering utilizing AI 'in our portfolios.'

Not sure how I feel about this, but I guess I'm willing to see how it goes. It's clear we have to do SOMETHING about erasing the status quo.

Is the AI going to be built on the foundation of the Constitution, the Bill or Rights and the Federalist Papers?

Word-guessing programs aren't the solution all of the world’s problems.

Also, whose AI?

Block chain and AI...

being suggested

I admire Musk's push for next level performance from our goverment

for right now, we have a massive problem to iron out. Our government is massive...100x anything Musk has tried to reform

I'd say a lot people need an attorney...

I am hoping this pushes out all the old farts who won't retire...

we get this budget thing figure out laser tight

we might be amazed how much money we have left over?

I just hope he doesn’t cut me. I’m a federal worker who voted for this. It’s like I want to send them an a note that says “I’m on your team here guys”!

AI is coming to everything, and what we should be asking for is an unbiased product. I don’t know enough to know if that is a feasible and reasonable want.

First thought is I don’t particularly like this idea.

For something this important, I think both parties should have a seat at the table. This should be something that is very public and that both political parties can agree on.

ETA: A law should be passed that says any changes would have to be approved by all sides. That way, in the event that another corrupt Odumbf*ckesque administration gets into power, they will not be able to legally abuse Artificial Intelligence for their own political corruption. Anyone with more than half a functioning brain knows that a scumbag like Obama would abuse any power he has to gain a fraudulent political advantage

Our government requires private companies to do all sorts of accounting tasks daily through laws and regs like Frank-Dodd.

I don't think it is too much for them to have to do some of the same sorts of things, and a daily, transparent AI audit and report of transactions doesn't sound like a monster under the bed to me.

Not really. That's just a narrative. We had 2.5 million gov employees in 1950.

The federal workers were just managing contractors if they did anything at all.

As just posted, the number of government employees is not massive. We had more government employees 70 years ago than we do today. The population today is 335 million compared to 151 million in 1950. So less people serving a larger country.

The amount of government spending is massive, however, that needs to be reigned in.

The purge of Federal employee going on now is just smoke and mirrors. The real cuts need to happen, social security, Medicare, defense. They're not serious about getting the budget in check until they start cuts in those places.

No, but that has nothing to do with this discussion.
