Think of all the extremely antiquated systems the government still uses day to day and how much more efficient they could be with a few well placed 10's of billions in IT/Systems/Processes upgrades

agree.
BUT....they should take a chainsaw to government spending, then more chainsaw, and follow that with additional agressive chainsawing. finally, after the sawdust has settled, the bureaucrats are terrified, come through with a Dremel.

I think by it's name "efficiency" means both cuts and spending to save in the long run. The cutting is the fast and fun part though

No way. frick that! Vivek has talked about this.
It's better to cut too much than not enough.
We can always add some back, but we need to cut as deep as possible and be sure we get as much of the cancer removed as possible.
Baby steps are the way things used to be done.
Overly concerned with politics. This isn't about politics, it's about reducing waste in our federal government.

Agreed. Remember when it cost a couple of billion to make the Obamacare website?

That's genius. I hope these 160+ IQ guys think of it.

Slash workforce and contract out if needed. You can always cut a contractor.

I lived in Singapore for 4 years.
The difference in how well government works there compared to here is mind boggling. Incredibly efficient and modern, with employees that are knowledgeable and helpful.
We have just accepted that government has to be dysfunctional, wasteful, and old.

They already said there are under used federal government assets that they will begin to use. ie. renting unused government facilities

I agree. The OP literally says that DOGE should "focus on where to SPEND".
Im saying let DOGE work on cuts right now.

They need to help impoverished minorities especially in the inner cities.

John Stossel should be part of DOGE

Honest question - there has to be SOME Democrats out there that are kind of secretly on board with this, right? I don't see how you can walk through the Hill as a congressman, regardless of party affiliation, and not think that wasteful spending is absolutely out of fricking control.
