Its also misrepresentative on current trends. Gross incarceration numbers began declining in 2009, and the acceleration of incarceration began declining in 1985. BJS
Arrests also started falling except for the time emerging from Covid. BJS
I've seen Cubbies do this fallacy before. Make headline level claims that could have been true in old textbooks, but don't match current justice statistics.
The other fallacy that she will post is that we have the highest incarceration rate. While the incarceration rate is relatively high, the US has fallen to 6th in the world and is falling down the charts rapidly. See World Prison Brief (need to enter details for chart) and World Prison Brief

Correct. The monthly SNAP allotment for a family of 5 is more than my family of 5 spends on groceries plus ineligible SNAP items such as hygiene items. SNAP is already overly generous.

Christ said treat your neighbor as yourself, not use government to give to your neighbor. As a matter of fact he said to give to Caesar what is caesars and give to God what is Gods.
Last I checked the government is nonreligious. So if charities and other non government programs want to help out, then by all means. Don’t bring government into it.

The value of school breakfasts and lunches should be removed from this amount also.

I'll support children no matter what. Whether it be from abortion or deadbeat parents. A child should not go hungry because of their lousy parents.

But perpetuating the system ensures that MILLIONS of kids in the future will suffer.

I’ve never said the government should redistribute wealth. My opening post in this very thread said that as a bad idea. I also called out the argument that it is pro-life to redistribute wealth gross cynical politics before going on to say, that the anger some of y’all feel towards poor people is unchristian. That’s all I’ve been talking about, and until this post you’ve maintained a sort of fury about the idea that you too are a man under authority and guilty of sin. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe you visit people in prison and feed and clothe the needy in your spare time, but I somehow doubt it

What anger?
Calling out the shitbag that is 4chubbies was not done in anger, but rather in honesty.

I’m not talking about people calling out 4cubbies. I’m not even talking about Oggabooga losing his cool at me. In explicitly talking about the handful of posters in this thread, including oogabooga at this point, who have been posting about wanting to teach “worthless” poor people a lesson. I think that’s supremely unchristian. Again, I don’t believe in redistribution through the coercive government, but there’s a venom there that reveals the source of their opinions to be neither practical nor based on the Gospel

Life means personal responsibility for one's actions and choices, not a government meal ticket

Well this thread is about the government not obligating itself to spend money to provide food to kids during the summer months. I haven’t followed your posts other than the one I commented on.
I can promise you I have more knowledge on the actual topic at hand than you do. Furthermore, I’ve giving to Christian ministries in various different forms such as pro life causes, paying others medical bills, volunteering to help disabled and needy and supporting mission trips throughout the world to spread the good news.
I’m not on a mission to ruin anyone’s life. I take responsibility for my wife and kids. I help others as I see fit. It’s despicable that kids in the US aren’t fed. If you can’t feed your child then you should give your child up for adoption. It’s plain and simple. It’s not the governments responsibility.

That’s completely fair. I’ve just been going back and forth with oogabooga about something that is tangential to this thread topic for three days now and was irritated at having to restate my initial post about being against government redistribution for maybe the third time since the discussion started. No hard feelings with you in particular in anyway.

That’s all good. Just assume none of my previous comments are about you in anyway. There are a lot of people in this thread that aren’t us.

I don’t know if I follow the logic that poor people should have to give their kids up for adoption completely, but 98% agreement on that one

Denying funding for roads certainly wouldn’t promote valuing life.
Laughable you think handing out even more government handouts equates to valuing life. A truly moronic and uneducated statement, people like you have no moral high ground.

Parents should feed their own kids its not the job of the government. What does that have to do with pro life?
So now babymama will have to use the money that she already collects to feed her kids
