I was a big supporter of Landry’s campaign. He’s been a disaster on most things, higher education being the most egregious. I do support him sending the LSP to Nola though.

You know nothing. He has the AG office prosecuting every arrest made by troopers. Since DA Williams is horrible and declines most cases for prosecution as most Dem DA’s do.

That’s always the problem in these Democrat shite hole cities, they don’t hold the criminals accountable.

Don’t know a lot about Louisiana politics. If for the last 17 years you have had a string of bad Governors you might need to look at the state representatives you have elected.

Even with a line item veto on the budget a governor can only do so much

Cost me (and many others) my job when he cancelled the Barataria Sediment Diversion Project. Not happy at the moment.

The Education wins are from pre-Landry. They are based on data from testing done in 2023.

How can one poster be so wrong, so often?

The latest report also provides the first high resolution picture of where Louisiana students’ academic recovery stood in Spring 2024. While the National Assessment of Educational Progress described changes in average achievement by state, we combine those scores with district scores on state assessments to describe the change in local communities throughout Louisiana. Here’s what we found:

Louisiana ranked 2nd among states in terms of recovery in math, behind only Alabama, and 1st in reading from the initial assessment in 2019 to current 2024 testing.

How exactly did JBE leave Louisiana in a good spot?

So you contend that Landry was elected in the Fall of 2023, and Landry's initiatives in his first 3 months of office affected our education results, as reflected in Spring 2024 testing?

The Hyundai Steel mill in Donaldsdinville is a big deal. It’s a 5.3 billion dollar investment expected to create 5400 jobs. I’m no fan of Landry but give some credit to him bringing in big business to LA.
