It's all bullshite, anyway. We have a ton of guest worker visas that have been filled, legally, for years. They are all still immigrant workers that go home when the job/season is finished.

We have 20-25 million illegals in the US.
We have north of 70 million combined citizens on government assistance and incarcerated.
We have more than enough population available here to do everything illegals do and more.

The ANSWER IS ORGANIZED WORK VISAS, plane and simple.
Come here and work for 6-months thru the system that has been set up just for this.
Some of you people are either ignorant to the facts and system for this or just too stupid to wrap
Your head around “legal immigration and work VISAS”
They can come work, then go home. Come Work, then go home.
Very simple!
They are in the system legally, they pay their dues and fees and taxes and not draining us like the current situation.
The business owners and contractors are gonna have to get off their lazy asses and do it legally!!!!!

They are already starting to roll out robotic roofers. Robot maids will be here soon, as well. I think we can survive without Juan.

Does anyone pay someone to clean their 1 BR apartment?
I mean isnt that a waste of money...
Oh wait...
She's talking about prostitution!
Yes, many illegals are in the sex trade.
Prices will totally go up to have "someone clean your 1 BR apartment".
Damn Jill is a dirty one...

By Specific Trade (Approximate 2025 Averages for Residential New Construction): Low end is non-union. High end is union. General Laborer $18–$25 Framer/Carpenter $25–$40 Drywall/Finisher $25–$38 Plumber (journeyman) $35–$55 Electrician (journeyman) $35–$60 HVAC Installer $30–$50 Concrete/Mason $25–$45
This doesn’t include benefits and those wages would likely skyrocket with the massive amount of demand if you kicked out all of Hispanic workers. I do think your point is fair that it was likely a 50% in the labor costs piece of the equation. I could see it adding like $50-75 / sq ft on build costs.

dude if you deport every illegal in the country you wouldnt need a ton of new houses built right now
that is the issue, we have been conditioned to think that new construction is a must at all times when it isnt.
there would be so many empty houses that the market price would come down big time. same with the cost of schools, cost of health care, cost of groceries
the market will adjust to less demand.

I did hear from quite a respected home builder in our area that if you were to kick all the Hispanics out building costs would increase by at least 50%. But… the bigger issue is there is a massive shortage of qualified labor available to build in our metro.
On the flip side, there would be a whole lot of unoccupied properties for rent / purchase on the cheap.
