a pint of strawberries currently costs $2.57 on average:
for simplicity’s sake, lets make it an even $3 per pint
this is the final point-of-sale price the consumer pays (less local taxes, if any) and reflects the grower’s total costs (land, cultivation, equipment maintenance, etc), the cost of distribution (fuel, transportation, warehousing, etc) and the retailer’s expenses (packaging, stocking, wages for cashiers, etc) plus any taxes absorbed by the above entities, with profit margins included for all
so my questions are, what percentage of that $3 do you think goes to undocumented labor? and how much would that labor cost have to increase, percentagewise, to increase that consumer price tenfold?
whenever someone makes this argument, they are either utterly ignorant of economics, or (as is more likely the case) unmitigated liars

Illegals can’t finance homes never have been able to. So if your theory is true then they are paying cash. 100’s of thousands in cash, unless we are talking low end market homes. Last 20yrs I have financed homes for a living, illegals biggest affect on housing is rentals. You want to see housing prices fall, break up corporations from owning more than 10% in any market. I could rant for days on the housing market
