There were but what fake news stories there were, I think it only reinforced what people already believed about people they disagreed with. For example, InfoWars is definitely a fake news website, but it's not like potential Hillary voters were tuning in regularly to Alex Jones.

Perhaps the most prominent example of blatantly fake news in a generation was actually correctly countered by so-called "fake news" sites . . .

"Hands up! Don't shoot!"

Carried for a month or more by the MSM without apology.

"fake news"

To me that is a term that someone coined to label anything that goes against their viewpoint.Sometimes they're trying to discredit someone telling the truth.

There is truth and there are falsehoods.

"Fake News"

"This began as a spontaneous -- not a premeditated -- response to what had transpired in
Cairo. In Cairo, as you know, a few hours earlier, there was a violent protest that was undertaken
in reaction to this very offensive video that was disseminated."

Oh wait, those are regular old lies, not fake news lies.

There's a difference.

Apparently?

No.

"If you like your plan, you van keep your plan"

"If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor"

"You will save $2500 a year on premiums"

"Obama has created and saved millions of jobs"

"Trump has no mandate"

It's pervasive.

You are stupid, son. I've told you this before, but you either didn't understand or forgot.

Can you not understand the dangers to freedom a media or media/government effort to eradicate "fake" news presents? Again, WHO decides what it is?

God have mercy on you and your kind.

I also find it funny that editors from Rolling Stone, the outfit perpetrating that fake news rape scandal, met with the president recently to discuss how to combat fake news.

Let's face it. The fake news thing is a progressive talking point designed to delegetimize non-mainstream media sources.

Powerman is taking that talking point and running with it. He's a hack, a pompous one, but still a hack.

I find it hard to believe there was a time on this board when I saw Powerman post and thought, "that ought to be a decent thread".

Dude turned to shite and then went total pussy in hiding after the election.

What a waste

Yep. Most waste ends up going down the crapper. That's pretty much what we have here.

You are correct. The ones that accuse others of putting out "fake news',are the ones that are not telling the truth.

If they told the truth,if the government were transparent, there would be no need for other sources of information.

"fake news" - another relativistic construct designed by liberals who conversely will presume to know truth(s).

Nope. And the BLM Ferguson/"Hands-Up" Narrative is THE most pernicious, and potentially an existential danger to National Security.

Propaganda is support of Ideological gain will always be around. From the beginning - I.e., the metaphorical/philosophical basis for 'Lucifer'/ the "Great Lie" as the "shining angel" that takes down a third of Humanity via lies - to the current scenario wherein MSM employs 'fake news' like BLM to foment violent revolution...lies will always be around. As a 'necessary evil' and essential (philosophical) contrast to the Opposite...which is Truth.

I know. WTF! I need another cup of coffee.

The Left 'sews the wind', PM; they should not be surprised when their Opposition brings the 'whirlwind'. Tell the WHOLE TRUTH...or pay the price.
