Nope. Don't agree with any of them.

1. Ban all stock trading.
A person shouldn't have to liquidate their 401k just because they run for office. The SEC should, however, have a special investigation division for government office holders. They sure investigate the hell out of corporate office holders.

2. Ban all participation in prediction markets.
Where do you stop? Are politicians not allowed to go to Vegas? Again, disclosure, visibility and oversight should be enough.

3. Mandatory retirement at 75 years old.
I know several people over 75 that I think are doing a great job at what they do.

4. Mandatory blind trust for individuals with a net worth more than $1 million.
Yeah, right. That's pretty much everybody in Washington.

5. Ban all foreign gifts to public officials, including foreign investments in their businesses or other entities.
Same as above. Gift giving is a gesture as old as time and disclosure, visibility and oversight should be enough. The rules are already in place.

Neither the democrats or the Republicans would pass those even if they had a super majority. They're all in on it and aren't going to spoil that gravy train

It would disqualify plenty of people who are still energetic and mentally sharp. Bernie Sanders, Donald Trump, Clarence Thomas. RBG wasn't a vegetable (she just screwed her own side by hanging on too long).

I would be fine with all of those, though I wonder how much any of them would help. E.g., how would this help us address the debt or mushrooming entitlement payments?

A mandatory retirement age for SC justices would require a Constitutional amendment. This doesn’t mean it’s wrong, but it would require more than legislation.

But don’t just ban foreign gifts from public officials. Cap the dollar amount of domestic gifts to politicians.

Also, let’s see if there’s a legal path to stop unlimited money donated in politics through Super PACS, and dark money.

That said, nice try Rahm. See by putting an age in, you can't have Supreme Court justices pick when they retire. Clarence Thomas is not retiring under a DSA President just like none of current Commie Left on the SC are gonna retire under Trump.
