I’m not blaming as much as giving context. Discussing what got us here.

Systemic racism is nothing but excuses. I see Latinos that come to this country with nothing. Nothing. They also have a language barrier. Most of them work their asses off and make a life. And their community continues to get more prosperous with each generation.

But no one wants to hear that. Don’t give me the generational advantage crap either. My grandfather grew up on a farm and during the depression was penniless. There was nothing. They had no advantage. He had to hobo on trains across multiple states just hoping he could dig a ditch somewhere for pennies. He did what he had to do and worked his arse off and supported the family. He was a fricking hero and I aspire to be more like him everyday.

Victim mentality particularly recently here is a big factor.

As mentioned above this post plenty of Latinos have come here with nothing and are prosperous. I live in a majority Latino area and see it every day. The Latinos here are every bit as affluent as the white people. And all of us mingle in the same social circles.

The problem with "systematic racism"... when you look at white people that have the same systemic problems -- lacking educations, criminal history, young out-of-wedlock births, they don't do any better than Blacks with the same circumstances.

Agree totally, TA. Just that Whites aren't organizing a violent organization based on their Race. Though there are many dedicated and "whatever means necessary" Socialists in the "fundamental change" mix.

This whole argument goes to another (spiritual) level...when one is forced to admit that both Nature (Genes) and Nurture (Cultural upbringing) determine an individual's life. "Life's lottery", as the Secular Intelligensia labels it; "Predestination", in a Biblical sense. No use in going there; most folk - obviously - can't handle the Worldly version.

November...will be a bad month, IMO.

Why want large black communities like NBR not change their immediate surroundings? Why do they choose not to fight crime, why do they let housing decay, and why do they let lots become overgrown and full of trash? I just don’t understand how able bodied folk can just dig there and take it and excuse illegal and immoral behavior.
Clean up the community lot by lot, block by block, and neighborhood by neighborhood. Government can provide educational opportunities, safe streets, garbage and fire service, but individuals have responsibilities too.

And succeeds thanks to victim cult(ure).

I agree heartily with the old adage: a hand up, not a hand out.

What, in 2020, is holding black people back? What "system" or "law" or whatever else you want to cite?

Which system is racist in 2020?

ding! ding! ding!

yes indeed, this is a system built on race that can be found in the laws, regulations, policies and guidelines of government and private businesses.

Affirmative Action is the only system of racism left that is sanctioned by government. I'll be happy to do away with it.

The only systematic racism in the country is affirmative action. It literally only looks at race to determine an outcome.

I didn’t start this thread so I could proclaim to be an expert. I’m wondering if y’all are even open to considering alternative perspectives
you don't appear to be.

Ive noticed a pattern in your posts. Pose something inflammatory. Never address the subject manner in detail. Never address counterpoints. Cherry pick posts that allow you to respond in an offhanded manner. Rapidly move the goalposts by evading tough questions to take up a thread question that require only shallow answers
welcome to every Cubbyies thread ever
