DO THE MATH. 86 of 1,000,000 ain't much. Means it is close to impossible. Now remove the sick plus elderly and it is ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE!

That’s only 7.5 deaths per one million people.

So by OP’s logic, it is mathematically impossible to die from cardiovascular disease.

I’d like to see the mortality rate if you take out those over 85 and those with a serious underlying health condition.

Basically this is the flu+/-, meaning people in a certain category could get hit harder but overall it significantly less as far as impact to the general population. Good portion of the population will have no symptoms at all.

Not significantly different than the data we had in February.

Rinse out your sandy vagina. The 2,000 death mark has happened on a few days. The average deaths per day last year for auto wrecks was almost 900 per day every day in the US. Add to that the coronavirus deaths include anyone and everyone who MAY have corona and it is a low risk the average American will die of this BS. Definitely not high enough to have ruined the economy over.

The MSP has been rolling out every Ryan White exception in front of the public to convince them otherwise. Convince, not report. Propaganda.

Um, no.

The average deaths per day from car wrecks in the US floats between 95-110/per day. In 2019, the average was 106v fatalities per day.

So you are only wrong by a factor of nine.

So this basically means that, right now, COVID carries about a 20x times higher risk of death than vehicle operation.

All COVID19 is doing is killing off the unhealthy old people and some random younger people that are unhealthy and a lot of the old people are from nursing homes.

You can argue that it's not worth the shutdown, and I would probably agree with you. But all of these simpleton stats don't help.
Most of these folks do not grasp the distinction.

Have we over-reacted? Probably

But posts like the OP are just so stupid that they work against the sane people who make that argument.

Did you get that stat from Facebook? Jesus Christ, you actually think 350,000 people in the US die in car wrecks each year? It's actually sub-100 per day

Especially when the just fabricate "facts", repeat conspiracy theories, or try to compare a year's worth of data to 2 months.

America is fat as hell. 36% of Americans are obese (BMI over 30), which means that a massive portion of our population is at risk. That's around 120 million people.

I suppose it could happen to a golfing, football watching, other wise sane and in decent health 45 year old working guy. But I'd check the wife's whereabouts and if he had an active insurance policy first. But hey, a lady in Alabama was hit in the head by a meteor and died several years ago while watching T.V @ home.

What people won’t admit, even the Doctors who know this, is most of these are borrowed deaths

Let’s say covid kills 1 million people worldwide. When we look at the overall death total for 2020 and 2021, it won’t be inflated much because most, not all, of the covid deaths would have fallen within that timeframe even if the virus didn’t exist

This is not controversial, just a fact

It’s even harder to die from a lightning strike; so why not play golf in the rain?
There’s a very slim chance you’d die in a terrorist attack; so why all the security?
Why bother putting a smoke detector in your house, or elaborate fire alarms in buildings when few Americans die in fires.
