Do conservatives want to ban abortions?

A lot of 'em do and will admit such on this board. It may not be a huge majority, but it's enough that the left is justified in being worried about planned parenthood in red states. Clinics are closed all the time.
That's why you can't trust voices saying liberals don't want to take away guns. A lot 'em of do. It's a moralized topic and many would jump at the chance, just like conservatives who would love to overturn Roe.
This is how they view it. The fact that the 2nd is written into the constitution is not persuasive to them. This is not a pro abortion thread, it's an example of how moralized subjects are perceived.

False equivalency, roe is a joke and the right to arms is plainly written in the bill of rights.

I would rather see a much larger emphasis put on personal responsibility aspects like abstinence and safe sax rather than abortion (looking at you, Planned Parenthood).

Overturning Roe does not ban abortions.

I agree with you, but they see it completely differently. This is reality.

OP:
Whatever answer you're looking for, you'll find many more answers than you expect.
Me? I'd like to ban dumb fricks from propagating. That would solve a lot of problems.

Roe is a Supreme Court Decision
The 2nd is a Constitutional Amendment
One is decided by 5 judges who are along since dead.
The other was ratified by the continental congress and the legislatures of all 13 original states.
In order to change the former, it takes 5 Supreme Court Justices to decide to change it.
To change the latter, it requires a 2/3 majority in both chambers of Congress plus ratification by at least 3/4 of state legislatures.
Conservatives want to change the rules on abortion by following the process that created them (challenge in the Supreme Court).
Progressives wish to ignore the amendment process on guns and render the document which enshrined those rights meaningless because the process to amend the Constitution is "too hard" (i.e. too many people disagree with them).

Sorry, you can't cede ground to the loons as a basis of a conversation.

Yes. Unlike liberals, conservatives actualky do what to save children’s lives.

That's not the comparison, the comparison was the suggestion that both are "moralized issues"...

Simple as that.

I would bet you any amount you wan't that there are way more people in the country that want an outright ban on abortions than there are that want a full ban on the ownership of any type of gun.
The anti-abortion population is a minority in the country but still large enough to effect change.
Full gun bans are the stuff of fantasy in the mind of a very small percentage of people and will never happen here.

Conservatives (me) don't want to pay for abortions nor do they believe they are morally right but these 2 things are separate issues.

Thank you. I'm not here to draw false equivalencies or support abortion. It's about illustrating how people want to ban things when the topic is "good vs evil." There are numerous voices on the left who absolutely want to take away guns.

We must ban assault abortions. Assault cars. Assault knives. Assault alcohol. Assault tobacco. Assault opioids. And on and on and on.
