DNC Says There Will Be No Debates

Well, this is disappointing news. The Washington Post reported Thursday that “the national Democratic Party has said it will support Biden’s reelection, and it has no plans to sponsor primary debates.” It’s understandable: the Dems have a president, of sorts, and so they’re counting on the power of incumbency to help their superannuated kleptocrat get over the top again. However, it’s also immensely disappointing, because after years and years of Democratic presidential debates being dreary displays of candidates trying to out-socialist one another, 2024 Democratic primary debates would have actually had something to offer.
Biden has two challengers, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Marianne Williamson. When Kennedy announced his candidacy on Wednesday, USA Today reported that RFK immediately had the “support of 14% of voters who backed President Joe Biden in 2020,” according to a USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll. Williamson had 5%, and another 13% were undecided. USA Today noted that “that is surprising strength for a candidate who has a famous political name but is now known mostly as the champion of a debunked conspiracy theory blaming childhood vaccines for autism.”
quote:
That’s precisely why the debates won’t happen. The Democratic National Committee knows that Williamson is nutty, and it thinks Kennedy is nutty, too, and it’s well aware that the less the public sees the dementia patient who pretends to be president, the better. They’re going with Biden for reelection, and they know that he can only hurt his own chances by standing toe-to-toe against a man who can actually articulate a coherent sentence and defend his positions, as well as against a woman who, however loopy she may be, looks like Madame Curie next to Old Joe.

Stupid bumbling frick would need a body double to debate for him.

Lol, as expected

Fair and open debate... that's not what we do here.

It’s Americas fault and the republicans fault that they play by the rules

Do they have a choice?

Xiden is bad for TV, and all the hard lefts will have the same argument...

No need, they just need their inner city machine

There's playing by the rules & then there's ignoring the changing battlefield and failing to adapt. The GOP is guilty of the latter, at least. Some would suggest they're actively taking part in their own destruction
See John McCain's personal aide flying all the way to Europe & back to hand deliver the fake Steele Dossier to the DOJ.

Do they have a choice?
Sure. It puts them as knowing Biden cannot function in one.
They can even decline after the Primaries. Decline to debate the republican challenger.
They would be called out mercilessly for it and it would usually be the death knell for the election for them. However the media would run full cover for them and try to mitigate the damage.
Biden vs. the Republican challenger is going to look like Oz vs Fetterman without the aids Fetterman got.

Least shocking news of this year.

So, the DNC backs a candidate before the campaign?
Does the RNC do that?

If Kennedy was smart he'd make deal with Gutfeld and debate a Fat Head cut-out of Biden, or Tom Shillue impersonating Biden.

The Rs dogged determination to play by rules rigged against them is ridiculous. Charlie Brown with Lucy holding the football.

This means the Democrats have every confidence that Donald Trump will give them the Presidency. Either as the Republican nominee or an Independent Candidate.

Democratic voters don’t care.

Who said there would be D primaries?
Or is this whole thing to get them the H out of having a convention in Chicago?
I was looking forward to hearing what the VP nominee would espouse?

After the 2020 GE I think the Dims/Groomers perfected the proven way to campaign in the "new normal".....minimal exposure of the Dim candidate, maximum mass mail in ballot harvesting and effective gaslighting from the Marxist Media to push the Groomer candidate over the finish line.

VDH recently wrote an article on how aged democrats provide cover for the upcoming radicals.

The Useful Veneer of the Aging Democrat
quote:
Joe Biden is now 80 years-old. He will be 82 when he campaigns for the 2024 presidency—and a clearly debilitated 86 should he be elected and fill out his second term. He has been in government for over a half-century.
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and current representative from California is 83.
Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), the second-ranking Democratic House member behind Pelosi, was House majority leader until early this year. He is 83, and has been an elected official for nearly 60 years.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) is 72, with 48 years in elected government.
quote:
The party has been changed beyond recognition by Senators Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), the so-called Squad, the Congressional Black Caucus, newly elected senators like the Georgia duo of Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock—and Antifa and Black Lives Matter.
Yet Biden and company are still familiar American faces.
Their final role is to acculturate the electorate to the new Democratic Party.
Its radicals are breathing down their necks to get out of the way. Yet for a while longer they still need such an ossified veneer of respectability to ease the transition to what is now essentially a socialist-European green party.
