If you don’t plan to take money out of your 401k then this is going to be the worst it gets

Looking at my 401K, it definitely is not easy after this week
Shouldn’t be. The number of shares I own hasn’t changed
My only goal right now is accumulating shares. The market goes up and down all the time. It will go back up, even if Trump’s plan doesn’t work.

Trump is real. Americans are spoiled and hace mostly forgotten the value of sacrifice and hard work. Especially younger folks, they've been taught they "deserve" rewards without earning it.
Same principle regarding Trumps plans. The last 80 years of trade imbalance won't be corrected overnight, but we'll be better off in the long run.
Its worth it.

Holy shite, you are obsessed with several posters. Pitiful.

I'm with you Mr President. I hope and believe you are truly trying to do the right thing for our country and it will make america stronger for future generations. I'll go down with you on the ship if that's what's meant to happen. The other choice was Kamala and the socialist, corrupt, baby killing, demoncratic party. May God help us.

Yes. Don't sell. If it doesn't get better then we are all up the creek with out a paddle. Stay the course unless you have to use it to live.

This is where will be x10 if he's wrong. Praying that he is right.

Of course he wants lower trade barriers just like you.
I thought he wanted to “bring back manufacturing”.
Either way, it leads to lower prices for Americans

If you aren't close to retirement then this hit on the 401k doesn't mean much, buy the drop. If you are close then you should have a balanced 401k that doesn't take a huge hit in a market downturn.

Well, my wife and I are in that boat, we are retired and dip into ours to supplement Social Security and we don't live lavishly. And we've not taken a huge hit this week because we don't have all our IRAs in stocks, and anyone who's retired and does is an idiot.
I often wonder how long it's been, maybe even how many years it's been, since some folks have actually looked at anything beyond their bottom line "how much have I got" number ... like their asset allocations, which they ought to be adjusting as they get older.
We're in Vanguard, and we each have half of our money in Wellington and half in Wellesley, and we just let it alone and let it go where it goes. I know we could be get better returns in more aggressive funds or investing in other things, but at our age we don't need to be doing that, we "keep it simple, stupid."

I love all of these Poli board expert economists. You baws learned how to navigate a complex, global economy working the valve at the plant?
I voted for Trump all 3 times. But it’s okay to admit he’s got the wrong approach on this. Rome is burning and you keep playing the fiddle. Way to go.

Americans used to be the people ready and willing to do the hardest things.
3 months of tariffs will bring most 2025 Americans to their knees.

Dear Americans,
You don’t unwind a system of rank corruption, hundreds of billions in fraud and waste, the complete abandonment of the domestic manufacturing sector, currency manipulation, corporatism, trade imbalance, speculation, a consumer debt bomb, and so many other things without feeling a little discomfort. If you can’t endure the pain that comes with healing, than you don’t care enough to fix the problem and you should probably STFU.
Xoxo

What exactly is expected end result?
Posted on 4/5/25 at 10:19 am to InkStainedWretch
Good for you inkstain. People close to retirement need to be aware of their investment portfolio. If they're not going to study their investments and reallocate with earnings, retirement horizon, etc. They should probably invest in a year sensitive retirement fund that has a glide path appropriate for their retirement years.
