He is a cabinet secretary who did not offer an opinion regarding the forthcoming price collapse in 60 days.

Correct, if China’s economy collapses then we likely go down with it as does Japan.

The non-pretending reality exists within a generally non-western perspective that current “market prices” are not driven by oil supplies, refining capacity or the other various justifications used by the speculators, traders and various regional spot-market control systems.
The prices are being controlled in order to influence political outcomes.

There is nothing “free market”. about diesel and gasoline prices. Good lord. Even you should understand that.

Commodities are largely manipulated by the speculators and money managers.
Just recently grain prices have risen sharply and it started with a “farming tour” by one of these “independent groups” across the Midwest where they pick random fields in different states and take a 3 ft by 3ft sample and report the yields and pods and conditions of the soybean or corn crops. Speculators use this info to go long or short on grain contracts.
Of course the report is negative in order to show potentially lower yields. Thus grain goes up. Based on a tiny sample in a state as big as Kansas or Nebraska. Nevermind that farmers planted 4 million more soybean acres after a year with massive soybean surplus. And I guarantee after harvest yields suddenly are “better than anticipated” and prices plummet. But the money managers will have already cashed in by then, leaving someone else holding the bag

On my side of the argument is Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin, who does happen to operate the world’s largest gasoline station – at least, according to the professional republicans. Others on my side include Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salmon, Qatari Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Turkish President Recep Erdogan and Venezuelan interim President Delcy Eloína Rodríguez Gómez.

This is an AMAZING pivot. High prices are not free markets at work, but a globalist scam!
I have to follow commodities because I book feed and fuel for my farm.
OP is correct. But you aren’t incorrect. There is a ton of manipulation by “independent groups” and speculators. But it is still driven by supply and demand data too. Sales and production do still matter. The manipulation comes from in between, articles written and data cherry picked to affect sentiment before the real data is released. The money managers make their trades before the people who actually take delivery of product book their contracts. A whole lot of “buy the rumor, sell the fact”
That’s why you saw the fear mongering of 200 dollar oil at the onset of the Iran war before supply was even affected. This allowed the money managers to go long on oil before fear set in among consumers and a rash of oil and fuel buying occurs “while it’s cheap” driving up price. Then they close out their long positions as the upcoming bag holders buy those contracts at top dollar because they need the actual commodity. Then come the articles about “oil not as short in supply as expected” right after the money managers open a new short position on oil. Rinse, repeat

The Secretariat of OPEC started out in Geneva, Switzerland and then moved to Viena, Austria. Very, very old money!!

So you are stating the City of London doesn’t control oil prices.
If not, how soon you will switch to claiming globalism doesn’t exist?
Why ignore the fact that Trump constantly speaks against globalism?
Why does Trump say things like “It’s me against the globalists?”

But the jones act says only us made and manned ships can do that and we don’t have very many. Baltimore, New York and Boston can and do receive diesel by ship, foreign ships with foreign oil. So if we waive the jones act foreign tankers can within days bring US diesel from Houston to those US ports.
Can you even imagine if the USA had of created the river infrastructure throughout the country that would have allowed the movement of products by boat and removed so many trucks off of the interstate highways? The Jones Act prevented so much progress in our river system though the USA has so many rivers.

Yeah it’s pretty wild there’s ports in places like Oklahoma and Nebraska.
Those waterways move tons of grains out into the gulf I think.
Just looked at the map. Never knew there are ports in Idaho.

The USA has more river mileage in the world than any other country. But the Jones Act prevents us from really creating some magic.

Aren’t you the one that said over and over the war in Iran was all about China?

They are the opening act in the larger contest against China. Collapse the Islamic Republic, and you remove the single greatest drain on American strategic bandwidth, expose the fragility of every client relationship Beijing has built from Tehran outward, and free the United States to concentrate on the Pacific with a credibility that 20 years of pivot talk never produced.....
In this sense, Operation Epic Fury picks up where Israel left off, escalating from proxy destruction to direct confrontation with the hub itself. No comparable opportunity to inflict this kind of strategic damage on Chinese positioning has presented itself since the end of the Cold War.
So yes, the Iran question was never about Iran. Remove the Islamic Republic from the equation, and China loses its pawns for a Taiwan contingency. Leave it in place, and the Middle East remains what Beijing designed it to be: a second front that Washington can never afford to leave and can never afford to stay in. Trump’s strikes are the first move by an American president who appears to understand that the road to the Pacific runs through Tehran.
They did!
Remember, the March 2026 US-Indonesia Reciprocal Trade Agreement (ART) significantly constrains China's economic and strategic influence in Indonesia through specific regulatory provisions, though Beijing has publicly restrained its response to avoid alienating Jakarta. Yep, while everyone worries about Iran ......
Oh, yesterday something extremely positive occurred regarding Greenland.
