Our Southern Baptist congregation is about as MAGA as any group of folks anywhere. That said, there was zero guidance from the pulpit about who we should vote for. Only thing the pastor did was call a time of prayer at the end of the service. Couple of hundred rednecks kneeling in the pews, praying that God's will be done. Thought that was probably the best way to handle it. No one can say a particular viewpoint or candidate was advanced, but the election is clearly top-of-mind.

Our priest is a former lawyer and doesn’t hide his political leanings. I was disappointed he didn’t give the homily today lol
Wait. Do you mean your pastor is a former attorney but your parochial vicar did the homily? Did a non-priest give the homily?

The Pope is not a fan of such things.

Didn't tell us who to vote for. Didn't tell us what party to vote for. Laid out the issues from a biblical standpoint... backed up all with scripture and said to vote for the candidate that best espoused those principles. For the candidate which would most closely align with what the bible says, while keeping in mind that neither candidate is perfect and neither is a saint.
We’re sort of between churches at the moment. Our previous church got a little too big for what we like, we watched another church, that’s only been open a year, online and the above is pretty much how their pastor laid it out as well.

My Pastor said claiming one of them was bad and the other good didn’t really hold water. That though neither were perfect, that should not preclude people from voting.
He said Christian’s were lazy and apathetic when it came to voting. He said if Christian’s ever got united in voting The Bible, they could make a huge difference.
To follow-up, he said all I need to know in whom I’m going to vote for is this,
1. Do you support the right of life for the unborn
and
2. Do you believe there are only 2 genders, male and female
He said once I have those 2 answers it’s clear who I’m voting for because the Holy Bible is clear on defining the answers to both questions.

According to my mother, who is the gossiper of our church, folks are MAD that my pastor indicated he wasn't voting because Trump was too liberal on abortion.
I think morality is on the ballot, bigger than just abortion. From the trans stuff, free speech, trusting your population with the 2A, etc
Take religion out of it. Are we going toward a normal traditionalist society or wacky progressivism

That's nothing compared to what the pastor puts on his personal Facebook page. I've been following his madness for years just because it blows my mind.

Not really. But the Catholic Church[my church] is always being pro life. As they should.
The gospel this week was about the first two commandments.
Love God above all. After that. Love thy neighbor. No matter what. To love your neighbor is to love Christ.

Did your church discuss the election?
yes. kind of.
2 good points.
1. Every election has been between 2 or more sinners. vote based on the policies that more line up with the word.
2. God reigns. no matter what.

Our priest (Catholic Church in MS) said to vote your conscience and prayed for the election results to be legitimate. So connect the dots there

Yes (SBC)
Did a pretty good job IMO.
AlwysATgr Op-Ed: pastors need to endorse candidates explicitly if that's what it takes to shepherd a flock to vote Biblically (so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 1 Tim 2:2). I could go on about God's design for nations and government but that will do for now.

I don’t go to church any more. As a born and raised Methodist, I didn’t leave the church, they left me.

I'd be changing churches. I couldn't possibly see myself supporting a weak man such as your pastor.

We had a long time member of our church speak today about the upcoming election. She had with her the folded flag of her father, who had served in the Marine Corp during WW II, and was at Iwo Jima when the flag was raised. Her message was about the extreme importance of this election for our country and our responsibility as Christians to oppose the evil that is overtaking our country.
