I don’t see how we can overturn their government and have a reliable, stable, regime without boots on the ground

As it stands, the way we’re fighting is only going to apply bandaids

check back with the question 5 years from now

Its not going to take china 5 years to resupply everything Iran needs to do whatever china wants. It will take as long as it takes Iran to put roofs up.

If anything this proves how a globally integrated economy is way too risky and we need to rehome a lot of manufacturing and production.

Technology is rapidly evening the playing field unless the technically advanced combatant is prepared to go scorched earth. Nukes or EMP.

Controlling the straight is not easy. All Iran needed to do was pose a credible threat to tanker ships and no cargo ship would risk entering (insurance wouldn't cover them).

So even the U.S. Navy could not guarantee all ships that they would be safe. If they can't guarantee that, no tanker is going in there. So Iran basically shut the straight down via threats. They didn't actually need to do anything. It's sorta like calling in a bomb threat to a school. You shut the school down without actually doing anything physical.

This baffles me…

same

I don't get it

I understand the Iranians had drones and mines in the water, so, there is that problem trying to save lives

Bottom line is, Trump didn't want to put Troops on the ground

that was necessary to create real change

this will be a disaster

Yes, we lost the war we started with Iran bc we didn’t accomplish a single thing we set out to do, and actually made things worse

Well the situation is without boots on the ground, you can destroy obvious assets but if you have one guy hiding in a hole that has a chinese shoulder mounted rocket, it all doesnt matter, ships wont sail through. However, we should have known this.

Yea man.. haven't you heard? This war was worse than Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan - all combined. It's been the worse war in the history of the world.

It has really messed my life up here in America because this war has been so horrific

I know the Trump-centric crowd refuses to believe the administration bumbled this… but for all intents and purposes what did we accomplish besides killing the supreme leader who probably would have died from old age in a year or two…we so called obliterated their armed forces 3 months ago but they somehow still controlled the strait with no navy…

OH MY LAWD!!! I can't believe you are this stupid. Your either a programed bot or a dishonest person.
Do you know why I don't believe your stupid enough to believe what you stated?
If you were that stupid you couldn't remember to breathe!

We're doing that but it doesn't happen overnight

It would take decades to replace the manufacturing supply chains in Asia

Thankfully Mexico is quickly becoming a manufacturing force that is helping us nearshore production. It's why the I-35 corridor is absolutely booming right now.
