The people they call Palestinians were once Jews and Christians of the area now called Isreal. They changed to Muslim hundreds and hundreds of years ago.

Man, the Palestinians stole all of that land from the Jews by 1947?

That’s crazy.

I just shocked that the Jews eventually recovered it.

So is everyone answering “no” just OK with the settlement tactics that Israel uses? Is that excused because the Palestinians (who don’t exist) are subhuman? Or is it excused because God said it’s OK in the Bible?

Well, the people who watched the video, or knew the facts presented in the video, answered that way because it is true. Some, of course, answered based on their own preconceived notions. They are both right.

Well, the settlement tactics are a fact. So if your video says that they’re ok, I’m going to have to call bullshite.

When was the last time "Palestine' was located in this area and was ruled independently by "Palestinians"? I think we have to go back to at least pre-Rome, but I'm willing to hear how that's wrong.

Prior to the Roman Empire it was called Judea. The Romans named it Palestine but it was never independent. It was only in 1947 when the UN partitioned it into Israel Palestine that a Palestinian state became a possibility. However, the Palestinians rejected that deal. So they only have themselves to blame for their problems.

10% of those expelled during the Nakba of 1948 were Christians. That's almost 100,000 Christians forced to leave their homes they had lived in for centuries.

Originally? No. Have they been using Russian tactics of scooting the border up every so often? Yes. Anyone who says otherwise is willfully ignorant.

:iagreewiththis:

Palestine was the name given to the geographic area by Rome after they laid waste to the temple in Jerusalem.

There were Jewish, Muslim, and Christian Palestinians for the next 1800 some years until Israel became a state after WW2. At that point the Jewish Palestinians started to self identify as non-Palestinians.

Even in the 100-200 years before WW2 the Jews weren’t stealing the land, but rather legitimately purchasing the land from Palestinian Muslims.

Then came the Muslim invasion, where Israel took more land forcefully but it was a response to aggression, not “stealing” nor being greedy.

They were fine up to that point but then the Israel state started sponsoring stealing of Muslim land and “settlements” but even before that stealing started, most of the Muslims were already in the shite holes of Gaza and the West Bank.

Steal? Maybe, idk.

Removing religious issues this is just some more horseshite in the ME that we have no business dealing with. Israel isn't the stalwart ally and the ME in general is a shite show.

The whole deal sucks for those involved but it isn't our problem.

That’s great. Sophistry is fun. I asked you to explain, and you can’t or won’t. Ok.

There is no such thing as a 'Palestinian' It was a term came up with around 1963 by radical Arabs to solidify hatred against the Israeli people.

Before 135 AD, the region was known as Judea. After the failed rebellion of the Jews in 135 AD, Roman Emperor Hadrian renamed the region 'Palestia', after the Jews chief nemesis, the Philistines, to rub it in the face of the Jews and try to erase the identity of the Jewish people.

Now to answer the question:

No.

The Jewish people have been in that region for over 4,000 years.

What I find fascinating is that this little sliver of land has been fought over for thousands of years.
Untold thousands have died in and over this one little small area.

I digress though. Jewish people began purchasing large tracts of land in the late 1800s from Turkish Aristocrats. The Ottoman Empire was in quick decline and the wealthy Ottoman land owners saw the writing on the wall and 'cashed out.'
