When was the last time "Palestine' was located in this area and was ruled independently by "Palestinians"?
I think we have to go back to at least pre-Rome, but I'm willing to hear how that's wrong.
Certainly it's been hundreds of years at the bare minimum.

No, in fact they bought much of it from wealthy local Arabs selling out their fellow Arabs beginning in the 1870s

I think I remember reading the word Palestine in the Bible, but I don't know what ethnic group lived there. Jews and Arabs (Issac and Ishmael descendants) I suppose.

No. There was 1. no Palestine and 2. they paid for a lot of the land and 3. many Arabs chose to fight the Jews rather than let them have a country, and they died in the process.
