I'll bet that news story just randomly picked that one house for that news shot.

Plot Twist: Building a house on sand and close to a beach is extremely risky when Hurricanes come

Nah…Pcola beach was hammered. This wasn’t some insignificant storm. The saving grace is that 1) it was moving extremely fast 2) didnt bring a ton of rain.

Kids will be grateful to see their friends and not stew in the heat with their crying parents (you)

Another liberal idiot that can’t read.

It states….and I quote……

If the school can’t open, that one stays closed.

Stupidity prevails…../.

Could the individual schools not choose to close if they couldn't adequately function safely?

Because, companies like mine go in and supply water and electrical replacement. So the schools has power, ac, water, restrooms, etc
So for many, or most, its more suitable than your home.

STFU...its 100% optional for ungrateful snowflakes like you

That sucks. They were on the west side but a "sting jet" which I'd never heard of really did some damage

Not sure where you are out but here in Okaloosa county my kids are still out of school until tomorrow. I don’t think Desantis makes this decision and believe it’s up to the local school districts

Was it his decision, or your local ISD?

School board just voted to stay closed till Monday.

The superintendent tried to blame it on Desantis, but the school board attorney made it known real quick that the decision was in the hands of the board.

From my understanding, DeSantis issued an order.

There has been a lot of pushback, and apparently, the Santa Rosa County School Board just announced they were staying closed until Monday.

Escambia County is apparently meeting at 1 to make a final decision.

This reminds me of a call-in radio show back during hurricane Andrew in Baton Rouge. A black woman (at least she sounded black) called in to complain how unfair it was that her children were having to go back to school on Thursday while a “white” school was not re-opening until Monday. It seemed really unfair to her that the white kids got two extra days off. Just thought that was worth sharing.

Some of those kids dont eat unless they go to school. It's their refuge.
Those parents should be held accountable. Or at least responsible enough to teach future generations to refrain from getting pregnant when you don't have the means to raise a child.
