Under a water boil notice. And I’m not buying the 95% of power has been restored. Power lines are still down everywhere.

Close schools until Monday.

You’re allowed to keep your kids at home if you choose. You don’t need the government to tell you what’s best for them.

Some of those kids dont eat unless they go to school. It's their refuge.

I grew up like this. Used to get what’s called a 2 on 1. (2 lunches on one plate.)

It is a shame that almost all of America does not understand it. If they did, many existing politicians and pastors would be out of jobs!! But go ahead, vote for the communist party aka democratic.

Unfortunately, some people are paralyzed without being told what to do.

Father left when I was 13 and my immigrant mother didn’t make much money. When I finally got a job at McDs at 16, I got to eat free when I worked. I felt rich.

From the footage I've seen, they could miss a few meals, no sweat.

Yes let’s let a bunch of kids gather to eat with hands cleaned with excrement water. Downtown has brown water flowing through faucets.

Power? No biggie for me. I have a generator, but most don’t. It’s the water boil notice that’s the issue.

I have no issue opening schools as soon as possible. Just think this storm was more impactful than they are letting in in terms of power restoration and water purity.

FP&L claims that 95% of all power will be restored today and that’s just not happening. And I hope DeSantis did not make a decision based upon that info .

I see you are a Bama fan. You Gumps played a football game Saturday night a few hours post storm without regard to these waterless, powerless folks on the coast. Not a thought about police and emergency folks that had to staff the game that could have gone down and helped. You guys cheered this.

Send your kids to school with bottled water and a manual hand fan...kind of like that game ya'll insisted on. They will be just fine. Can't have it both ways.

The decision to open or close schools is up to the school district

That’s what I thought. But apparently DeSantis issued an order.

Sorry to hear that man. Free school lunches is the one form of welfare I actually support. I don't even think it should be tied to income.

Parents should get nothing. Go to work.

Please check the ingredients lists of all the food you purchase and consume.

You’ll see soy and soy derivatives all over the place.

Go soy free and feel the power of red blooded toxic masculinity again.

I'm in SR county.

Agreed that schools shouldn't be in session. A lot of the schools still don't have power or water. My kids are staying home. Unfortunately some parents will send their kids because they enjoy having a free babysitter everyday.

Desantis has kind of downplayed this storm a bit. It may be because the most severe damage is somewhat localized. FPL is inflating numbers. There are a ton of people who still don't have power. I see a lot of lines and trees in a tangled mess that is going to take some time to sort out.

That was my point. FPL is claiming more power restoration than there actually is. Hell my FPL app claimed my power had been restored.

This storm was pretty potent in a few areas.
