Solid response, stayed reasonably on point with policy and what is actually going on. A little snarky, but if the tables were turned, Trump would be much sharper.

The problem is that this is a litmus type of issue. He needed to come out strong rather than playing both sides. The opportunity to go after Trump (which he really hasn't done up until now) will be plentiful. Instead, he took the attention off of a political prosecution.
This is going to piss off a lot of Trump voters at a really bad time.
This was a pretty big strategic mistake, IMO.

Desantis does not speak well outside of scripted settings.
He does not come across as authentic and it will be an issue going forward.
