I'm not necessarily a Ron for president guy, but I'm not sure there are many who realize the constitution as well as he does.

Well he can’t be any worse than what Biden elected to the Supreme Court. I promise you Ron is leaps and bounds ahead of that idiot.

You should hear him speak about it then. He is extremely extremely impressive when talking about the constitution and founders. He can almost quote the federalist papers verbatim. He is very sharp when it comes to that. You really could not do better than him on the Court for the next 30+ years. He wouldn't be squishy like ACB or Kav.

I think DeSantis would make a better justice than Cruz, but they would both be good.

I probably trust DeSantis more than Cruz.

While I'd take it...I think it's probably a waste of DeSantis to some extent.

DeSantis is probably the best manager the GOP has seen in my lifetime. He's got personality too. Not enough to win the presidency right now, but more than is needed for a reliable SCOTUS pick.

I don't want to pull Cruz from the Senate but he's the more viable for me, I'd just as soon never seen him do a video or podcast again.

If I had it my way, DeSantis would probably be VP in the next cycle, although in reality I'd want him to be the universal "fix it" czar in that role.

No, Ron DeSantis has no direct SCOTUS (U.S. Supreme Court) experience.

en.wikipedia.org

His pre-political legal career consisted of:Serving as a JAG officer in the U.S. Navy (including as a prosecutor and legal adviser to a Navy SEAL team during his Iraq deployment).

Acting as a special assistant U.S. attorney (federal prosecutor) in the Middle District of Florida.

A short stint as a litigator at the Miami law firm Holland & Knight after leaving active duty.

en.wikipedia.org

He has never:Argued a case before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Clerked for any federal judge (let alone a SCOTUS justice).
Served as a judge or had any appellate experience at the Supreme Court level.

en.wikipedia.org

As Florida governor (and earlier as a congressman), DeSantis has been involved in major litigation where his administration’s policies were challenged—some of which reached the U.S. Supreme Court or prompted petitions (e.g., voting-rights restoration cases in 2020 or social-media regulation disputes). In those instances, the state (or DeSantis as governor) filed briefs or took positions, and the Court sometimes ruled in the state’s favor. However, this is standard executive-branch involvement in lawsuits, not personal legal experience arguing before or “running” SCOTUS. He did not personally appear as counsel or litigator in those proceedings.

wusf.org

In short, DeSantis’s background is executive and political, with limited trial-level prosecutorial work early in his career. There is no record of SCOTUS-specific experience in his biography, legal résumé, or public record. (Note that searches for this topic often surface his heavy involvement in appointing justices to the Florida Supreme Court, but that is unrelated to the federal SCOTUS.)

I know there is no criteria and anyone can be nominated...

Maybe he is best fit for an executive high cabinet position?

Mike Lee and Cruz are constitutional savants.
