When the government is pushing out propaganda like this in front of Americans, you can be damn sure you should not trust a fricking word they say. Don't fall for the propaganda folks. We are the very best at it. Even the politicians that you like and think, yeah, they want to do what I want to do. No they don't.
If they are saying trust the plan, there is either no plan, a shitty plan, or an evil plan in place.

I enjoyed that thread when it was happening. I don’t think that 17 was inherently bad and I don’t agree with the media automatically painting it as right wing crazies when it was happening.
I’m not sure the current administration embracing it is going to work well in the long run. There were and still are fringe people who still hold onto 17 even though it’s been years since a drop.
X posts like this coming from the federal government accounts could stir up the fringe and embolden them to do some things they otherwise might not have done.
If it’s not revealed by someone in the administration that he or she is 17, I’m not sure what good keeping this going will do.

Data is nice, but this is politics. The truth is ancillary to decision making at best, and only a factor in decision making when convenient. Just because data suggests something should happen doesn’t mean it will. In fact, I would argue that it usually means it WILL NOT because politics.
